Well only a matter of weeks after passing the 1000th member landmark, we have passed through 1050th, jumping from 1049 to 1052 in one night.
The number of visitor to the site daily has been varying more than usual recently, from around 850 to 1150 - a reduction from earlier in the summer, while the number of members in 24 hours is usually up - around the 125 mark.

The reason behind the quick rise of new members is since the LPL news section became readable only by logging in, we have had both new members and old ones who have forgotten their password to get in. I try to delete old memberships where I can see them having re-joined. Birthdays often lead to a weeding out of duplicate memberships too.
We also continue to get potential spam joiners plus others, who I am checking by geolocation and background details when they attempt to join.

I note that on Sunday 20th January we had two new members, so have reached a membership of 1,201 - another landmark.
I note that daily we have regularly 170-190 members signing in and a further 850 to 1,100 log-ons by guests in a 24 hour period.
Posts have reached 52,453 and threads 10,479 according to the counter on the index page. Not bad since mid March 2009.
With 30 to 55 posts per day on a regular basis, there is much variety to the subjects, in addition to the regular LJLA, MAN & IoM reporting.
Well done to all the regulars for keeping this a lively and interesting forum.

On Good Friday, 29th March 2013 "l1049g" became the 1250th nwan member since March 2009, when the forum moved to the current host.
The counter currently stands at 10,944 threads, 54,950 posts in just 4 years. With at 4pm on the Saturday 157 members and 828 guest visits in the past 24 hours, with 26 members and guests active at that time.
We continue to go from strength to strength, thanks entirely to the activities of both the regular and more occasional postees. Well done.

Well the 27th June 2013 marks the 1,300th member on the nwan forum. The current acceleration of members joining has been, in part, due to the forum update and the need to log back in without forgetting the password! Having said that the daily count has been rising again with usually around 145 members and between 950 and 1150 guests -although a couple of days ago I noticed 175 members and 1,230 guests, a total of 1,400 in the 24 hours.
So welcome "Ikarus" to our forum. Members have a variety of reasons for joining, some become regular viewers, others with a specific request. In seems that a couple of weeks ago, while I was taking photos at Barton which I posted subsequently posted, I caught "Ikarus" flying and he by PM has requested a copy of that photo and any others from the afternoon that I might have. I'm delighted to oblige. You never know when posting on a forum just quite what form the response will take.
As usual, on this thread, I will take the opportunity to thank all the regulars and occasional posters on the forum for all their contributions. The scope of topics covered never ceases to amaze, and many of the images quite remarkable.

On 1st October 2013 'Blueaircraft 79' becomes our 1,350th forum member. Welcome 'Blueaircraft' back to the nwan forum family and trust you will be contributing again shortly (had to rejoin following computer virus issues). The 1,350 membership total has been reached since the latest re-incarnation on Proboards March 2009. In that time we have clocked up an amazing total of 66,347 posts on 12,565 topic threads. The current viewing figures for the past 24 hours are 142 staff and members, with 1,449 guest visits (which is a little higher than on many days), a total of very near 1,600 - of which 8 members and 71 guests are actively viewing at the moment. I continue to be amazed by the popularity of the forum in terms of ever increasing numbers and in the breadth and diversity of the information and images posted.
May I once again take the opportunity of reaching a minor landmark membership total, to thank all contributors regular and occasional, for their efforts and support.

Steadily, quietly over the past three and a half months the nwan membership total has risen by a further 50 to now stand at 1,400. Welcome "vc10" as a landmark member, and only hours behind "ste" as member 1,401.
On a more general note, the daily viewing figures continue to slowly increase, although there a day-to-day variation. As I type this there are 54 viewing, 7 members and 47 guests. In the past 24 hours 1,598 viewings, 167 members ( of which many will have made multiple log-ins in the 24 hours) and 1,431 log-ins by guests (some will have been multiple viewings by the same guests). The 24 hour total has nearly reached 1,800 on severals days recently, but 1,650 is possibly more typical, but has not been below 1,500 for quite some time now.
Since March 2009 we have collectively clocked up 68,986 posts on 13,205 threads - quite a back catalogue listed on the index for each section!
As usual I will take the opportunity of these membership 'landmark' posts to thank all who have contributed, be it on a very regular basis, or just a couple of times. There is a massive knowledge base out there, the breadth of information always staggers me. Not just information, but images too, be they local, air shows, visits, or global, current or nostalgia in origin. It is the enthusiasm of the members to contribute that is the 'life-blood' of a forum such as this, and I would rate nwan as very healthy at the moment. Long may that continue.
Thank you all for making and continuing to make nwan forum a success.

I note that today, Saturday 6th April we have reached our 1,450th forum member. Welcome Mr Wigan as our latest new member.
As I type this at 11pm, there are 77 persons viewing, 8 members and 69 guests. In the past 24 hours 1,615 viewings, 148 by logged-in members (of which many will have made repeated visits during the day), and 1,467 log-ins by guests (some will be multiple visits by the same guests). The 24 hour total seems to run at between 1,450 and 1,700 most days.
Since March 2009 we have clocked-up a staggering 71,680 posts on 13,701 threads - works out at an average of a little over 5 posts on each thread.
Quite an achievement and a great thank you is in order to our contributors, both occasional and the regulars. The breadth and quality of information always staggers.
Well done all, and many thanks for making nwan forum a success.

Hello all. I think this is the right place to post? This is my first post and just wish to introduce myself. I am literally a very part time aircraft enthusiast as my main hobby is trains - sorry ladies and gents, we all have out faults! However, I have been interested in aircraft since my childhood and especially love WW2 aircraft and present day Miltary Jets. About 3/4 times a year, I take time out and visit Liverpool and Manchester airports, as well as attending a couple of air shows, mainly International Air Tattoo and obviously Southport being local. I have over the last 3/4 yrs looked at this forum from the outside, checking various links especially the "local historical" ones as some remind me of some memories from yesteryear but thought it was time to join! As I've said I am a part time enthusiast and will drop in from time to time and I am unsure that I wil be able to add any little knowledge I have compared with some of the members on here already.
Regards, Doug (8A Rail).

Welcome to the Forum, 8arail. Nice of you to introduce your self. I am sure you will find plenty on the Forum to keep you interested including locos that are occasionally covered in the non-aviation section. Again, welcome and regards Beemer (Administrator).

'Baree' is or 1,650th member since March 2009. Welcome. We atill seem to be rolling along at around 50 new members every 3 months, which is encouraging, and hopefully shows that we could well still be 'getting in right' - especially as forum face increased competition from Facebook pages.
