All times are quoted as ‘local’ time, so are GMT/UTC + 1 hour. As the source material is in UTC, an error by one hour is possible, but hopefully very infrequent.

G/A refers to an aircraft that did not land, performing a go-around only, but did not touch down. t&g is 'touch and go'.

The registrations of aircraft operating on call-signs, especially RAF aircraft on Go-Around are not always 100% accurate. Where a code and direction of Go-Around are given, this means that the registration was confirmed by Mk.1 eyeball (well, usually a digital image!).

Where an aircraft operated on call-sign, this is noted by official 2 or 3-letter abbreviation. If there is no call-sign, then the aircraft operated using the registration. Where there is just one call-sign, the same flight number was used both in- and out-bound.

'Football related', 'team chtr', 'funeral related' 'Creamfields related' or similar comments are generally determined by the times and point of origin/destination and is informed guesswork, not absolute known fact.

The source material does not name non-registered airfield sites, these are covered by the blanket term ‘private site’. Nor does it identify diverted flights or the reason for the diversion, however these can usually be worked out from other sources.

'WX' = literally 'weather out' conditions below or above acceptable, 'Dvt' = diverted in, 'chtr' = charter flight, Pax = passengers, Del = delivery, Arr = arrived. Often further detail in the written Report section that follows.

LJLA OWNERS COMMIT TO NEW INVESTMENT

In a very welcome move the Peel Group have secured the financial future for Liverpool John Lennon Airport and so are in a position to release cash for a series of much needed improvements to the Terminal Building and the area around it. While details of what changes will be made have not been listed, it is already known that the replacement of the well-worn ‘2008’ carpet has a high priority, along with re-plumbing some of the passenger toilets facilities.

EASYJET PASS THE 35m LJLA PASSENGER MARK

Amazing as it may sound EasyJet have passed the 35 million passenger mark on their flights from and to Liverpool since they commenced flights to Amsterdam and Nice in 1997.

FLYBE ADD EDINBURGH TO THEIR LIST OF LJLA DESTINATIONS

Flybe continue to surprise and support growth from Liverpool. Their three times daily Amsterdam service commences on Monday 7th September, and expansion of frequency to both Belfast City and the Isle of Man at end of October had been previously announced. Flybe now reveal plans for a daily mid-morning link with Edinburgh, to commence late October. LJLA’s first Scottish link for around 10 years, this new domestic route is an important development – although a twice daily business timed connection would be desirable for the future as it would compete effectively with road and rail.

AEROBILITY AT LIVERPOOL

Aerobility brought 4 aircraft to LJLA and on Wednesday 19th, despite the far from perfect weather operated 16 local flights providing a great action packed day for 31 Wirral based disabled children arranged through the Heswall Disabled Children’s Holiday Fund. As noted in the main log the aircraft were Cherokees G-HARN, G-BMFP, G-CHFK and Technam P.2002 G-UCAN, which operated alongside Ravenair aircraft and used Liverpool Aviation Services facilities to provide much appreciated experience. A number of aerobility's aircraft are adapted with easier access and controls for disabled use.

EUROPA CUP DRAW

With a poor end to the 2014/15 season, LFC missed out on a likely European Cup place, but did somehow still manage to qualify for the Europa Cup direct into the League stage, missing the pre-season qualifying rounds. While not the favourite European competition of British Premiership Clubs (due to matches being played on Thursdays), the draw takes LFC to interesting and new places, meeting Rubin Kazan of Russia, Bordeaux of France and Sion of Switzerland. Kazan is a City in the Republic of Tartarsan, the club Rubin Kazan is a team that LFC have never met before. In European competition they last met FC Sion in the 1995/96 season and Bordeaux in 2006.

SCHEDULED SERVICE AIRCRAFT

EASYJET (U2/EZY)

EasyJet had a relatively good month in August. Just the two cancelled flights noted, with rotations to Berlin and Amsterdam on Sunday 2nd due to G-EZFL ‘tech’. In the early hours of Monday 3rd G-EZAJ positioned in from Southend as EZY9009 to ensure our passengers to Malaga, Naples and Palma got away on time. Although the Gatwick-IoM diverted into LJLA on Monday 10th to wait while fog cleared before completing the journey, LJLA’s own IoM rotation in the afternoon operated without any fog problem.

On Saturday 22nd, A.320 G-EZOP on the late night flight from Larnaca diverted into Athens, so delaying its return. In the early hours of Sunday G-EZUJ positioned across from Manchester as EZY9002 to operate our Lanzarote rotation before positioning to Gatwick as EZY9003. To complicate matters the same day G-EZFY went ‘tech’ at Liverpool , so G-EZAG positioned in from Luton as EZY9010 in the early hours of Sunday 23rd and became a LJLA based aircraft as the offending G-EZFY departed for Luton EZY9002 on Monday morning. Also on 23rd G-EZDD was drafted in from Berlin as EZY9004 to operate a Faro rotation before returning as EZY9005 to Berlin. No training aircraft used LJLA during August.

In all EasyJet used 38 different aircraft through LJLA in August, well up from 27 in July:

RYANAIR (FR/RYR)

For the whole of August Ryanair had 5 aircraft based overnight on scheduled services from Liverpool. They appeared to have another smooth month with no major problems or delays noticed.

Ryanair who had used 85 aircraft through LJLA in July, required just 68 different aircraft during August, all Boeing 737-800s:
EI-DAH, DAI, DAL, DAR, DCG, DCM, DCP, DCR, DHA, DHB, DHE, DLB, DLF, DLH, DPB, DPD, DPK, DPZ, DWH, DWJ, DWK, DWL, DWS, DWY, DYM, DYW, DYX. EI-EBD, EBF, EBH, EBL, EBM, EBN, EBO, EBX, EBY,EFE, EFI, EFJ, EFO, EFP, EFT, EFY, EKA, EKH, EKL, EKP, EKR, EKV, EKY, EMB, EME, EMM, EMN, EMO, ENA, ENB, ENC, ENI, ENY, ESO, ESP, EVS, EVX, EXE. EI-FEF, FIO, FIR.

FLYBE (BE/BEE)

Other than short delays, Flybe only suffered problems on two days. Manx flights suffered twice on Monday 10th. BE601 arr as normal and G-JECZ departed as BE602 only to find the island fog bound, so after over an hour and half in the air returned to LJLA. The aircraft then positioned out to Birmingham as BE041W to limit further ‘knock-on’ effect. The afternoon BE605 G-ECOR arrived normally, but suffered a cracked windscreen, not leaving until the evening of the 12th to Manchester as BE041D. As a result the BE606 (presumably also due to carry the stranded BE602 pax) was cancelled, as was the evening rotation! A combination of weather and aircraft serviceability frustrating Isle of Man bound passengers. Flybe did better for their passengers on Thursday 20th as after arrival on BE601 G-FLBA was declared ‘tech’. To operate BE602, ERJ-175 G-FBJF was brought across from Manchester and operated BE602 around 4 hours late, while the Dash 8 eventually positioned out to Birmingham in the evening as BE042D.

The Belfast City operation pleasingly suffered no cancellations or aircraft problems at all during the month, bar the advance programmed non-operation of BE901/902 on Bank Holiday Monday 31st.

It would appear that later in the year, Flybe will be using two ATR-72 aircraft leased from Stobard Air. Like last year, it would appear that IoM-Liverpool is one of the routes the aircraft will be used on.

WIZZAIR (W6/WZZ)

The summer schedule of 4 weekly from Gdansk, 3 weekly from Warsaw, twice weekly Riga continued throughout August with no noticeable disruption. Our first sighting of WizzAir’s new colour scheme was on new aircraft HA-LYT first visiting Thursday 6th and again 13th and on HA-LYV first visiting on Saturday 29th.

No less than 26 Wizzair aircraft called during August: HA-LPM/LPN/LPO/LPQ/LPR/LPS/LPT/LPU/LPY/LPZ; HA-LWA/LWD/LWF/LWN/LWO/LWP/LWX; HA-LYD/LYF/LYH/LYJ/LYK/LYL/LYN/LYT/LYV.

BLUE AIR (OB/BME)

Another smooth month of operation from Bucharest and Bacau, although on Monday 17th on take-off there was a possible tail strike or bird strike reported, the pilot opting to burn off fuel for 2 hours before returning at 1232 for a precautionary landing and inspection. A further 2 hours later and the OB134 passengers departed without further incident at 1435 for Bucharest on the same aircraft following inspection.

CZECH AIRLINES (OK/CSA)

After commencing their Prague service in July, all rotations continued to operate smoothly during August. For the enthusiast of their fleet of 9 x Airbus A.319s we saw 4 during August, unfortunately all were the same as they used in July! However, on Monday 31st, they substituted a Smartwings Boeing 737-800 OK-TSH onto the service, which operated a little late as a result.

CHARTERS, TOURS & FREIGHT OPERATIONS

With the final pre-season games and then the start of the Premiership season, a variety of football related charters. Just the one non-football charter, the return of the Salford Diocese Pilgrimage to Lourdes that departed late July, returned on Thursday 6th on an Alba Star Boeing 737-400 EC-MFS running a little late.

Football commences with the final weekend of friendly and pre-season warm-up games. LFC having played in Helsinki on Saturday 1st returned home on Gain Jet’s Boeing 757 SX-RFA a few minutes into Sunday morning. 10 hours later they were on Cello’s BAe.146 G-RAJJ and on their way to Oxford Airport en route to play Swindon. It would appear that a few of the players and staff had preceded them the day before on a BM Regional RJ-145 flying into Brize Norton. Cello’s BAe.146 brought the team back mid evening Sunday after a big weekend of travel. Also on Sunday 2nd Villareal of Spain had played EFC at Goodison at the end of a tour of British clubs. They flew home on an all-white Air Nostrum Canadair CRJ-200 EC-JOD.

The first weekend of the domestic season brought Watford FC to play EFC at Goodison. Watford used Denim Air RJ-145 PH-DND, travelling from and to Watford, Friday 7th and Saturday 8th. The following weekend EFC used BM Regional to travel to Southampton Friday 14th, returning evening Saturday 15th. While Bournemouth travelled up to play LFC on Monday 17th on VLM Fokker 50 OO-VLN in CityJet colours. The following weekend LFC were away against Arsenal, and travelled home on Cello’s BAe.146 early hours of Tuesday 25th. Later on Tuesday 25th Denim Air’s R-145 PH-DND was back, again with Watford FC, but this time they were here en route to and from a Capital One Cup game at Preston North End. At end of a busy first month of the season BMRegional , using RJ-145 G-RJXF brought in West Ham late afternoon on Friday 28th to play LFC. The next day BMR’s G-EMBN took West Ham back to Stansted after the game, returning to Liverpool with Everton after their away game against Spurs. By my count 17 flights carrying 6 different football teams, involved in 10 different matches, using 6 different operators, utilising 5 different aircraft types during the month, and that is without counting-in biz-jets and GA types with owners and wealthy supporters! All good additional business for the Airport.

After the Bulgarian Rose Air An-26 and an Aviavilsa ATR-42 with freight towards the end of July, with cross channel travel disruption continuing, there were hopes that more freight flights would be using LJLA with components for Merseyside factories. No great flood of activity followed, with just two to report here during August. Rose Air’s Antonov An-26 LZ-ABR returned on the evening of Wednesday 5th routing from Katowice to Leipzig, while on Wednesday 12th Aero Nova of Spain made a welcome return with Metro III EC-HCH from Gothenburg. With the French disputes now settled, it might be a while be we see more dedicated freight flights.

DIVERSIONS – GAINS & LOSSES

August is generally a quiet month for disruptive weather, and with little fog or thunderstorms around this year, this proved true this year too. Mid-morning fog at Ronaldsway on Monday 10th prevented the inbound Gatwick EasyJet flight and a Flybe Dash 8 inbound from LJLA from landing, so both diverted to Liverpool to await clearance before completing their journey.

On Friday 28th when the aircraft landing ahead suffered a bird strike at Manchester, a Flybe ERJ-175 had to go-around and the crew diverted to Liverpool for fuel and wait-out the congestion as the airport there was temporarily closed for a runway inspection. Just the one aircraft diverted away from Manchester, and that one continued its journey after an hour on the ground at Liverpool.

On Saturday 8th at 1540 resident Gemini G-AKKB suffered a burst tyre after landing. Fortunately by this time it was already off the runway and on the parallel taxiway, so activity continued without disruption to services.

TRAINING

With no training flights operating at Liverpool during August, not even EasyJet bringing in a training aircraft to night-stop at LJLA, perhaps I should include this title only when there is activity to report.

BIZ-JET VISITORS

Like July, August has been another good month for biz-jet visitors with some 47 different aircraft of 14 registration nationalities (CS, D, EC, G, HB, LN, LX, M , N, OE, OK, OY, PH & 9H). Every month seems to bring a different pattern; in August the numbers of different Falcon 2000s and Lear Jets were noticeable, while there were fewer Hawker 800s than July. Larger biz-jet types featured Global Express, Challengers, Falcon 2000s and a Hawker 4000. Two Global Expresses in August, with LFC’s owner visiting on Monday 17th on his N627JW direct from Hanscom Field, Bedford, USA arriving early morning, leaving again direct for Bedford after a very long day in Liverpool. The other Global, N181CL arrived on Wednesday 26th from Farnborough and stayed until 29th when it left for Luton. Challengers were HB-JRC on Fridays 7th Zurich-Tirana and 14th Zurich-Geneva marking a welcome return to LJLA by Swiss Air Ambulance, London Executive’s G-MRAP Northolt-Luton on Saturday 8th and a rare one at LJLA, G-SCAR on Friday 14th from Madrid on Friday 14th. The Hawker 4000 N411TF arrived from Luton Saturday 1st before departing the following evening direct for Bangor, Maine, USA. There was an unusual number of Falcon 2000s in August, with 5 in total, all European registered. OY-SWO routed Billund-Faro on Saturday 1st, with the opposite routing a week later, while OY-GKJ arrived from Hamburg Monday 10th, then on the 12th left for Avignon, returning later the same day from Toulon before leaving for Billund. Third Scandinavian was LN-RTG Malaga-Oslo on Thursday 13th, and the following day Kristiansand-Oslo. Two NetJets examples brought in CS-DFF Paris-Palma on Saturday 15th and CS-DNR on Saturday 29th and stopped overnight, routing Isle of Man to Amsterdam.

Plenty of Lear Jet visits during August, with no less than 8 different aircraft, although most have visited earlier in the year. Quick Air Jet’s Lear Jet 55 D-CCGN Saturday 1st and night stopped, Bratislava-Bordeaux; Jet Executive’s Lear 35 D-CAPO on Saturday 29th, Munich to Barcelona; D-CGGG Lear 31 Murcia-Hahn Monday 31st; Isle of Man resident N700KG Lear 40 on Thursday 27th; with Duk Air Ambulance’s LX-TWO from Corfu on Sunday 9th and night stopped. Other air ambulances were Air Med’s Lear 35 G-JMED from Geneva on Mon 17th and G-ZMED from Reykjavik the same day, while other UK registered aircraft were Gama’s G-XJET from Bergen Friday 7th and Fuerteventura Sunday 9th. Sole Hawker 900XP was M-CKAY on Monday 17th and night stopped with Bournemouth FC’s owner to watch his team play at Anfield. IAI Astra visits are far from common, so Tyrol Air Ambulance’s OE-GBD from Seville Friday 21st and Antalya Saturday 29th provided interest. As did Air Hamburg’s Phenom 300 D-CHIC from Essouria on Sunday 30th and night stopped. Apart from the regulars (which have not called for a while!) Raytheon Premiers don’t call that frequently either, so N808CS on Friday 28th Reykjavik to Palma and Lux Aviation’s D-IWWW on Monday 31st Paderborn to Ibiza and likely connected with Creamfields event made a welcome change.

Which moves us onto the usual large paragraph detailing Citations, which form only nearly half of the biz-jets visiting this month. Just recently the larger 680 Sovereign have been rare, so two in August is of note, with D-CBAY on Friday 7th Bremen-Olbia and PH-RID on Sunday 30th, likely connected with Creamfields event from Tenerife. Older Citations 500-550s were regulars G-FIRM and G-SPRE, along with Bestwings EC-KHP Sunday 2nd Malaga-Madrid. Smallest of the range, the Citation 510 Mustang were 8 in total and all were regulars with Aviation Beauport, London Executive, Blink Air, Saxon Air and Globe Air of Austria. Citation 525 CJs were more varied and interesting, 7 in total and all of different nationalities. CJ2 OO-ACC from Stornoway on Sunday 2nd; CJ1 OK-PBS of Queen Air Zagreb-Ostrava Monday 3rd; D-ISJP CJ2 Tuesday 4th and Friday 28th; EC-HVQ CJ1 of Executive Airlines f&t Gerona on Saturday 8th; OE-GJP CJ3 on Tuesday 11th; CJ3 CS-DVH of Valair Private Jets Thursday 20th likely with Sir Cliff Richard for Cilla Black’s funeral ; finally Luxwings 9H-ALL CJ2 to Rotterdam Saturday 29th and likely Creamfields event related. Fewer of the mid-size Citation 560 Excels than usual with just Executive Jet’s G-EYUP and BookaJets G-DEIA both regulars along with Arena Aviation’s G-XLTV twice on Friday 21st.

GENERAL AVIATION VISITORS

Possibly the most unusual visitor of the month does not fit easily into any section, so while no longer airliner, nor charter or GA, the visit by Basler PT-67 C-GGSU on Tuesday 4th needs to be covered somewhere. The fairly recent Turbine Douglas C-47 conversion arrived from Reykjavik at 1449, took on fuel and departed for Pisa at 1612 en route from Canada to Europe on contract with operators CGG Surveys. First Dakota to land at LJLA since 2008 (when there were 3), it created quite a stir and generated quite a volume of engine/prop noise too. In comparison the remaining GA visitors in August pale into insignificance, however I shall cover them as normal.

Perhaps a mid-summer, month of August thing, but the number of GA twins seems to be down, while the number and variety of single is up when compared to the past few months. Two football related regulars were N266EA Beech 58 Baron on Thursday 6th (although not football related on this date) and all-red King Air M-RLEE on Mon 17th, believed to have replaced a former regular Malibu. PH-WDL a Seneca on Friday 21nd f&t Groningen and King Air D-IKOB on 14th from Berlin and to Munich round up this section. British twins were also fewer than recently, with just Capital Aviation’s King Air G-ZVIP on Sunday 9th routing IoM to their Exeter base. Another King Air 200 G-BVMA is becoming a regular with several visits and ‘blast from the past’ radio call-sign ‘Cambrian 99’, while an established regular is Flair Jet’s Chester based King air 350i G-ERSE. That’s leaves mention of Technam P2002 with Aerobility on 18-19th and Apem’s Chester based Islander G-JPEG operating from LJLA for a week, Friday 21st to the 27th at one stage calling a ‘Ravenair’ call-sign.

On Capital’s Isle of Man Hospital contract we noted Navajo Chieftains G-VIPU 1st to 4th and again 7th to 20th and a visit on Friday 28th f&t Exeter; G-VIPX on 5th and 21st and into September. They also employed one of their King Air 200s, with WVIP on Sunday 16th providing extra capacity.

Sole American registered was Malibu JetProp DLX onversion N5EQ which stayed from the 2nd until 6th, from Grenchen to Alternrhein, while sole Continental European registered aircraft was a Piper Cherokee Archer F-GJCB which stayed from 10th until 16th from Grenoble to Albertville. Light aircraft from Ireland were in the distant past once common, two in a month is today worthy of comment. Cessna 172N EI-EYJ from Trim on Saturday 15th, with on the following day a microlight from Weston, Dublin with a bold pilot who in Sky Ranger 912 EI-WIG crossed the Irish Sea twice in the same day!

Visiting British singles were pleasingly well up. Cherokees included G-LVRS from Elstree on Wednesday 5th, G-BSEU from Shobdon Monday 10th, G-RAZY from Hawarden Saturday 15th, G-CFHF (a Cherokee Six), G-BMFP & G-HARN with Aerobility on 18th-19th, G-BTFO from Woodvale for attention 19th to 21st and Arrow G-AZYF from a private site twice on Sunday 30th. Cessnas featured just 152 G-BWEU from Gamston Saturday 8th and 172H G-AXSI from Tollerton Saturday 29th. Sole Cirrus of the month was regular Blackpool based G-OGGM on several days and a less than regular type, a Van’s RV-9 G-CDMF on Saturday 9th.

While one might expect more helicopters to visit during periods of better weather, the reverse seems to be the case. However, there were three, far from regular Agusta 109s with East Midlands Helicopter’s G-EMHC on Thursday 20th and Stobart’s G-SKBL on Wednesday 26th and G-HCOM on Monday 31st. Regulars were HEMS Eurocopter EC.135 G-NWAE for fuel on Fridays 7th and 21st and Peel’s S-76C G-PACO on Monday 31st. Robinson R.44 G-HALS looked to be a new visitor on Friday 7th and on a number of days during the month, however it proved to be former regular, G-CEKA re-registered. Indeed, G-CEKA, last visited as such as recently as 25th June. Another newcomer Robinson was G-RFUN on Tuesday 25th, while regular Robinsons were D-HXXY and R.66 G-SYES, although regular G-CFCF was a ‘no show’ again in August.

RESIDENT AIRCRAFT ACTIVITY AND CHANGES

Not too much to report. On decent weather days the GA population was active, with most of the residents flying during the month. Especially good to see the Gemini flying for the first time this year, with local flights on 7th, 8th, 15th, 16th, 17th and 24th. The Aerostar N711TL returned from Turweston on 18th, where it had gone to after an undercarriage problem, June 15th. Two residents have left, both likely for maintenance, Merseyflight’s Tomahawk G-RVNB on Friday 7th and Robinson R.44 G-CJLL on 8th – neither returning before the end of the month.

MILITARY AIRCRAFT VISITORS

After a number of consecutive months bemoaning the lack of military aircraft actually landing at LJLA, August proved to be a rather interesting month. The Irish Air Corps do use Liverpool on occasions with their Maritime Patrol and Communication aircraft, however other types are rarely seen outside of Ireland. It was quite exciting on Friday 28th to watch IAC Pilatus PC-9M 264 call mid-afternoon for fuel on a flight from Ostend to Badonnel. A rare bird at a British airport.

Not one, but two Chinooks landed at Liverpool during August. RAF HC.3A ZH904 landed late evening Thursday 13th after being heard overhead Broadgreen Hospital making night approaches to the landing field there. Following a night stop, it left after lunch the following day to return to Odiham. A few days earlier, on Thursday 6th, a new Chinook HC.6 called for fuel around lunch-time en route from arrival by sea at Seaforth to Odiham on delivery to the RAF. Even the military Islanders which have been rare of late, returned in August with Army Defender ZG997 on 5th and RAF Islander ZF573 on 18th.

Air Show displays account for the remaining visiting RAF aircraft, a pair of Typhoons, a pair of Hawk T.2s and 8 of the Hawk T.1s of the ‘Red Arrows’ team. The pair of Typhoon FGR.4s ZK353 (red tail, 100th Anniv of 29 Sqdn marks) and ZK349 (RAF WWII camouflage and code GN:A) arrived early evening Friday 7th. While ZK353 acted as an unrequired ‘spare aircraft’, ZK349 flew off to display at Newcastle, NI on Saturday afternoon and at Blackpool on Sunday afternoon. Both aircraft departed home to RAF Coningsby on Monday morning. The same weekend, somewhat unexpectedly the ‘Red Arrows’ called for fuel (it was anticipated that they would use Hawarden) late Sunday afternoon after displaying at Blackpool. Three week-ends later, the Hawk role-demonstration pair called twice for fuel permitting displays at Rhyl while operating from Dunsfold. Both ZK028/S and ZK026/Q were in standard black with 4 Sqdn markings.

Best month of the year so far for military movements, with the Southport Air Display later in September, hopefully September will be another active month too.

GO-AROUND ACTIVITY

Not a bad month, with go-arounds on 7 days by RAF Tornado GR.4s, on 10th, 12th, 20th, pair on 24th, 25th and 27th, and on 4 days by C-130J Hercules, on 13th, 18th, 20th and 29th – although it was the same aircraft on 3 of those days! There were also the regular Hawks from Valley, with 2 Hawk T.1s and 7 visits by Hawk T.2s during August. There was just a single RAF King Air 200 on 20th. RAF Woodvale Grobs have become only very occasional sightings, however there were two in August on 4th and 11th. No civilians or Police Helicopters calling just for a practise approach and go-around during August.

COMMENT

My apologies for this monthly summary report being so long after the movements had been posted. Various factors including a holiday being to blame, it not escaping my notice that this is my 13th month (just recounted and it is actually my 14th!) of producing monthly movements on nwan forum. I took-over with no notice from Dave Graham in July 2014. It has taken me a while to settle on a fairly consistent style. Always been a problem settling on a balance between detail and readability and I do hope that for the majority I currently have it about right. It has been a long, and at times slow, learning curve for me – a process that continues.

One innovation I’m planning is that end of the year putting all 12 months of visitor logs (in searchable Excel format), plus the monthly and the 2015 annual review (MS word) onto a disk for those that like to keep such information. Doing so will also ensure that information is not be totally ‘lost’ if the ‘plug’ is ever pulled by Proboards as our forum host.

EPILOGUE

Normally as highlights of the month, this section highlights visits by chartered or diverting airliners. This month VLM’s Fokker 50 and Denim Air’s RJ-145 are well and truly pushed down the list by the first C-47 Dakota since 2008, and the first by a Basler PT-67 conversion, C-GGSU of CGG Surveys routing through for fuel Reykjavik to Pisa, late afternoon Tuesday 4th. Runners-up in a great month for variety are headed by Irish Air Corps Pilatus PC-9M 264 Ostend-Baldonnel afternoon of 28th and for fuel between air show displays a pair of Typhoons, pair of Hawk T.2s and 8 of the Hawks of the ‘Red Arrows’. Good to see resident Gemini G-AKKB back in the circuit for the first time this year and a Sky Ranger microlight EI-WIG is notable for crossing the Irish Sea twice on Sunday 16th, from and to Weston, near Dublin.
