Went for a walk along the sea front at Meols yesterday and took some interesting photos. Lunch time for what I think is a white Heron, but no doubt I will be corrected. A Gull struggling a bit with this fish. Anyone know which type of fish it is? A normal Heron and the white one together. Quite a difference in size which makes me wonder about the white one. The reason for the walk - Charlie, seen here protecting his wooden friend. And finally, one for Biggles to get his teeth into

ste-t I can,t open the photo,s but the " white heron " is probably a little egret which is a member of the heron family mostly found down south but there are a few at Parkgate and can be seen when the high tides are around Hope this helps Richard

Thanks airboejet and Viscount (via pm) for pointing me in the right direction with regard to this being an Egret. Thanks also to all those who expressed a liking for the post. I've had much the same problem opening the photos which I thought was unique to my mobile but I'm experiencing it with my PC at this moment. On further investigation I've found that Photobucket is down for maintenance, so hopefully they should re-appear when the site comes back online.
