FLIGHTS UPDATES FOR 26 FEBRUARY 2017 ONWARDS update 25/02/17 14:30
Citywing are now able to confirm flights details for Sunday 26 February and Monday 27 February.
Sunday 26 February. Sunday 26 February - Belfast For Belfast there will be a Stansted-based Titan Airways Boeing 737 to operate one flight for all Sunday’s Belfast-bound passengers, departing the Isle of Man at 1450, arriving in Belfast at 1520. This aircraft is planned to depart Belfast at 1550 and will be for all Isle of Man-bound passengers, arriving at 1620. All passengers affected will be transferred onto these flights and Citywing will endeavour to contact all passengers.
Sunday 26 February - Glasgow / Newcastle The Titan Airways aircraft will also operate a combined flight for the Isle of Man passengers booked to fly to Glasgow and Newcastle, which will route via both airports. The flight is planned to depart the Isle of Man at 1700, arriving in Glasgow at 1745. It will then depart Glasgow at 1825, arriving Newcastle at 1905. It will depart from Newcastle at 1940, arriving in the Isle of Man at 2015.
Sunday 26 February - Gloucester Unfortunately there are no options for a Gloucester flight, instead, Isle of Man passengers will be transferred to a flight to Cardiff operated by North Flying, departing the Isle of Man at 1820 arriving at 1915. There will be road transport available to Gloucester. For the Gloucester to Isle of Man passengers unfortunately we will not have any options on Sunday but can offer the alternative of flying from Liverpool to the Isle of Man on Monday.
Sunday 26 February – Blackpool Blackpool flights will be according to schedule and will be operated by North Flying.
Monday 27 February Monday 27 February - Belfast For Belfast there will be a Stansted-based Titan Airways Boeing 737 to operate one flight for all Monday’s Belfast-bound passengers, departing the Isle of Man at 1110, arriving in Belfast at 1140. This aircraft is planned to depart Belfast at 1220 and will be for all Isle of Man-bound passengers, arriving at 1250. All passengers will be transferred onto these flights and Citywing will endeavour to contact all passengers.
Monday 27 February – Blackpool / Glasgow / Gloucester Unfortunately there are fewer aircraft options for Monday so we have had to work out a way to accommodate passengers travelling to and from the Isle of Man as best as possible. With this in mind we have planned one flight from the Isle of Man to Liverpool using the Titan Airways Boeing 737 aircraft. This flight is for all Blackpool, Glasgow and Gloucester passengers and is planned to depart the Isle of Man at 1330, arriving in Liverpool at 1410. Surface transport to the various destinations will be arranged. For all passengers from Blackpool, Glasgow and Gloucester, surface transport will be arranged to Liverpool to catch the flight to the Isle of Man which is scheduled to depart at 1450, arriving in the Isle of Man at 1530.

That is interesting as it didn't operate the proposed IOM-LPL and LPL-IOM rotations this afternoon. Instead it positioned back to Stansted under a Vanair flight number

There's a world of difference between flying pax on an aircraft with (obviously) a minor defect, and flying it empty back to base for maintenance !

Can anyone help with this question If Vanair have had they licence revoked by the CAA how can they still use VAA flight numbers? which they did with the Titan Boeing 737 and now with the Sprint Air SF340? Been wondering the same myself. My understanding is that only the Czech CAA can suspend or revoke their operating licence. Van Air are a properly licensed European airline, and therefore entitled to trade anywhere within the EU. However, the IOM is not in the EU, rather it is a British Crown Dependency. Therefore the UK CAA 'accepts' that they (like any EU airline) are fit and proper, but in addition issues an additional permission to serve the IOM. This is normally just a formality, but in this case the UK CAA have decided to suspend their 'additional permission', pending the outcome of an investigation by the Czech CAA. However, this still doesn't answer your question. The continued use of "Van Air" call signs would indicate that Van Air are still being allowed to operate to/from the IOM, but not with their own equipment or crews? There has to be a clearly identifiable operating company who are legally responsible, and I can't see how Van Air can assume responsibility for (e.g.) a 737 operation, although they can presumably lease-in substitute aircraft. Which is what appears to be happening. Any additional explanation will be most welcome!

I can't remember the finer points of this any longer, but I suspect that whilst the airline's AOC has been suspended, the parties involved have come to some sort of agreement to use the Van-Air callsigns, provided that their own aircraft are not operating them. Titan (or whoever else they've chartered in) can't use their own callsigns, because they have no route rights. I notice that the CAA are treading very carefully over this, no doubt for the reasons you've already stated.
Van-Air will not be responsible for the operation as such - the sub charterer will. As we know, Titan have a lot of experience of this, although chartering a 737 seems like taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut, especially when it's not allowed to fly into BLK. I'm not sure whether even a SAAB 340 is too big these days.

Just got a Citywing Reminder for my flight later in the week look at the last two lines note change of airline
Unchecked baggage. You may take one item of hand baggage onto the aircraft free of charge, as long as it fits into the luggage gauge sizer at check-in and weighs less than 6kg. The dimensions of the sizer are: Length: 50cm, Width: 35cm and Height: 22cm including handles and wheels. Any item of baggage larger or heavier than this must be checked in. When you board the aircraft, crew or ground staff will place your hand luggage in the hold unless it is small enough to fit under the seat. You can then collect your hand luggage as soon as you disembark from the aircraft.
P8 Flights operated by Sprint Air. Cardiff - Anglesey Flights are operated by North Flying.

Just been looking at the airport website (Friday 3rd) and all Citywing arrivals and departures are still showing 'V' (for Vanair) flight numbers.
But I suppose the arrivals/departures info still has to reflect what is on the passenger's tickets. Presumably there will come a point when passengers with new tickets will be looking for different flight numbers?
I'd also like to pay a small tribute to the much-maligned Let 410 aircraft. These have served the Isle of Man for well over 10 years, and often with better reliability than some of the other airlines serving the IOM. Incidents with the Lets have been few and far between - only a couple of burst tyres, and one inflight engine shut-down come to mind. The achillies heel of the aircraft is its abysmal inability to taxi in any winds over 39 knots - it has to be tied down even when parked.
Personally I enjoyed the in-flight smell of hydraulic fluid, and the knowledge of an experienced MiG-21 driver up front! Even if I never did fully understand how the 'upside down tailplane' worked. A great aircraft, and generally great crews - well done and thank you.
