Thank you for providing the list and updates too. I note "Red Arrows" non appearance due to being in Greece for this weekend. Looking at the list, it is the same old unfortunately with the only "new" particpant being the Fortress "Sally-B"! Hopefully some "fresh/new" particpants will be added to give more interest compared with previous years. Anyone know what time the typhoons are due in at Liverpool

While I agree that there is no item on the Southport Air Display to really excite - I do think some are being unfair. The Spitfire/Buchon pairing is new, as I suspect the Bronco is too, while the Mig 15 and Vampire missed the Saturday last year. No idea who the "Turbs" are, but they too are new. All British waterfront air displays currently lack lots of 'fast jet' noise and action, and when the 'Red Arrows' are not-in-town jet team aerobatics. The cost/financing structure is against bringing in 'fast jets' from overseas - both solo and teams. I remember the days when the Dutch, Belgians, French etc turned up at a number of shows in the UK each year, now they are somewhat rare.
Be interesting to see how the Friday evening display works out.

It might have been one of the 2 Norwegian ones that are at Blackpool, LN-DHY or LN-DHZ.

I remember the days when the Dutch, Belgians, French etc turned up at a number of shows in the UK each year, now they are somewhat rare. Be interesting to see how the Friday evening display works out. You make valid points but I think some people are not being unfair on the organisers of the show. The harsh reality with one or two exceptions the aircraft / team visitors have remain constant over numerous years attending the show. However, I do accept the budget for the airshow can only go so far and therefore need to maximise it as best as they can so sadly it is "repeat" business. May be it is a reflection of the aircraft / teams that are actually available to the UK locations which limits that choice? I am not aware that the organisers have ever attempted to get a "foreign" air force to the display, let alone get one to do a display but I acknowledge those displays are now very limited in the UK anyway with the odd obvious exception (eg International Air Tattoo, Cosford, Valley etc). In my eyes (apologies in advance) - The Turbs, Team Raven, The Blades, and the FireFlies - do some excellent flying displays but they are all very similar therefore, may be one or even two of the teams is more than sufficient. The new display's for this year - yes the Buchon (ME109bf copycat), Sally "B" and maybe the Bronco but everything else is the same more or less. My thoughts at the moment, is to go to LJL tomorrow to see the departure and arrival of the Typhoon and "may" attend Sunday, although if I do go, unusally travel by train and I will arrive around 14.00hrs (in time for the MIG 15) but that will depend on the weather. Regardless, those who attend I sincerely hope you enjoy the displays and have a good time too.
