Noticed today on the ground east of stands 54,55,56 an orange JCB.Might this mean exploratory digging has begun for "New A/C Stands"or am i just hoping!!?. Any info anyone.

The red digger (bigger than a standard JCB) started off at the west edge of the GA apron several weeks ago. Difficult to tell from outside the fence what it is doing. I would consider it the wrong type of machinery to be investigating ground conditions for foundations. More lighting? Drains? Cables? I don't know.

Expansion of the apron must not be far away. As the numbers of based aircraft increase there will not be many free stands for diverts, IT charters etc at times.
