I've just scanned and restored this photo, one of the earliest I took with my box brownie camera, way back in 1964 N6288B, Fickle Too, Rotterdam, 18 Aug 64 fw by Philip Pain, on Flickr The photo was taken at Rotterdam Airport on 18th August 1964, I was officially on a school geography trip. The aircraft is an Aero Commander 560A, N6288B, carrying the name "Fickle Too". I've just googled the aircraft, to see what became of it, and there is just one other photo of it to be found, taken at Adelaide, South Australia, in July 1964, just a few weeks before Rotterdam. It did not last too long, crashing in Maine, USA in April 1966. These days we are very used to globe trotting American registered biz-jets, but in 1964 this was almost 'state-of-the-art'. In the photo the other aircraft are (on the left) two Dutch registered Piper Cubs, with (on the right) Jodel DR.1050 Ambassadeur PH-ONE. Barely visible in the far distance is Fairchild 24R Argus 3 PH-NDL.
