Duxford Air Festival - Saturday May 25 2019 My first venture out to an air show this season. Here are some of the flying shots I took. I managed to miss the two highlight moments of the show. The first was the Apache with the pyrotechnics going off in the background (wrong end of the airfield) and the Breitling Jet Team finale which was a bomb burst with each jet simultaneously deploying flares (I would have needed a considerably smaller lens for than shot), thats worth remembering next time I see them display!. Typhoon FGR4 ZK432 opened the show. Chinook HC6A ZA708 Harvard G-BGPB (1747) Jet Provost T3A G-BWDS (XM424) Strikemaster G-RSAF (Plus G-SOAF) Apache AH1 ZJ211 Canso G-PBYA Blades Extra 300 (1:G-ZEXL, 2:G-ZXEL, 3:G-ZXCL and 4:G-ZXLL) Bader Bus Company PA28-161 G-BMFP. Three ship formation team, plus G-BCIR and G-BSYY B-17G Fortress G-BEDF P-47D Thunderbolt G-THUN TF-51D Mustang G-TFSI Aerosuperbatics Stearman G-IIYI (plus N74189) Gemini G-AKHP - In company with two Messengers (G-AKBO and G-AKIN) Breitling Jet Team. Six L-39’s (1: ES-YLN, 2:ES-YLI, 3:ES-YLX, 4:ES-YLR, 5:ES-TLF and 6:ES-YLF) L-39 ES-TLF:5 Spitfire 1A G-CFGJ (N3200) The IWM Spitfire closed the show. On the whole not a bad show, but did lack a real ‘Star Item’. There were two other teams that don’t feature in the photos; The ‘Army Air Corp Historic Flight’ and the nine ship of predominantly Tiger Moths ‘Tiger 9’.The weather was rain free and quite warm on the Saturday but not too good on the Sunday I understand. Shooting into Sun for the first part of the show is always an issue at Duxford. Cheers Shaun
