A mate of mine and I decided to make the annual pilgrimage to Goodwwod, which was as good as ever, once we'd fought our way round the M25. Just two aircraft of interest in the static park, which was very depleted this year. Pilatus had made much of the fact that they'd landed the 125 copy PC-24 on the grass runway - something the 125 has been doing for about 30 years, but there was no sign of it anywhere. G-DYLN, the PC-12 demonstrator. Considering that it's nominally owned by a company registered in the IOM, I'm surprised it doesn't carry an M-prefix. Is it a car? Is it a plane? B*ggered if I know! PAL-V PH-PIO. It certainly looks very odd in it's 'packed' or car config and I'll be surprised if it catches on, but I'm ready to be proved wrong...

Not wishing to hi jack the thread but about 18 months ago wasn't there a series of landings at Compton Abbas by an Eclipse in attempt to prove its grass strip capability - if not another small exec jet type - but as Garston boy says nothing like the long standing capability of the 125 -rugged in the extreme!

I seem to remember there was a DC-6 at Goodwood a few years ago. That would be nice to see. (Does anybody have photos?) and it would have taken me back to the Argonauts using Burnaston.

Yes, there was, Ron. The only photo I have seen (unfortunately ) has two ladies standing on the wing for some reason. I just hope they weren't wearing high heels!
