I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder but the Piaggio is one UGLY aeroplane. Why does it need a horizontal tail AND a canard? Why is the horizontal tail swept when nothing else is?
.....and it sounds awful! It has taken the prize for worst light prop from the MU-2

Maybe it's part hangar, part Home Bargains. If M-ORIS is the only aircraft going in there its going to be a bit lonely, poor M-ORIS

It’s not all Hangar. There is a two story administration block / passenger lounge on the south east corner which is designed to be a bit of a feature.

The planning permission request, as stated on NWAN some time ago was for a hangar to accommodate both the Legacy 500 biz-jet and a Bell 429 helicopter, plus offices and equipment storage space. A helicopter and a biz-jet would require their own separate 'footprint' inside, as the two would not easily shoe-horn in together due to the rotor spread of the Bell.

Spot on with the timings Evoant, thanks again. It was on the ground approximately two hours and six minutes. 9H-SPB Bombardier Challenger 650 seen taxying out, and lining up for departure. M-GFGC Piaggio 180 Avanti parked up on stand 14, this shot really shows off its weird design. 9H-SPB by MARTIN CHELL, on Flickr 9H-SPB (2) by MARTIN CHELL, on Flickr M-GFGC by MARTIN CHELL, on Flickr

The P-180 reminds me of the Beechcraft Starship, same canard but a bit larger and pusher engines, that became extinct but was better looking

It has taken the prize for worst light prop from the MU-2 It also has a pair of Learjet style fins added on under the rear fuselage for good measure. It must be an aerodynamic nightmare.

The comparison with the Beech Starship illustrates my point(or one of them).Canard but no horizontal tail. Why does anything need both?
