last evening at our aero club at Lucon, France, we celebrated our newest PPL who gained his licence in fine style with brilliant passes in paperwork and practical.
Guy ATLAN is 72 years old
And why not? Go for it, whatever it is you want to do.
NB Our super little club with 1 Diamond DA-40 and 30 flying members, now has amongst its ranks, the youngest pilot in France having gained her PPL on her 16th birthday, and the oldest "new PPL" in France. During the summer we had one guy who wanted to gat his PPL in 12 weeks of training. He did it! We also have a fantastic instructor/CFI and a Michelin star chef (our President) who makes our celebratory dinners.
At 130€ per hour (£108) we enjoy one of the lowest rates around and this even diminishes by a further 10% after 12 hours in the year. Under 25s get a further discount of about 10% All volunteer run, the true spirit of aviation still exists in France.
