Sunday looked to be the only day in prospect to see the owls for a while, judging by the continuing poor weather forecast.Up to three Barn Owls had been reported hunting the day before during the day.Recent rain and wind would have made hunting very difficult by day or night. I saw the first owl soon after arriving and thought I would see if there was a good spot at the edge of the woodland next to where they often hunt. The ideal spot was very muddy and after a while of waiting, I decided to leave the wood and try being mobile. This gave many distant views, but in the end was probably a mistake as one went very close to where I had stood!
