Looks like they have gone "bump" tonight, aircraft have been seized at Glasgow and blocked in at Manchester.

One would hope that JLA management are putting pressure on easyJet to increase the frequency of flights Liverpool to Isle of Man, to make up for the shortfall in capacity. Bear in mind though that both Flybe and easyJet were on average not flying with full aeroplanes on the route. With another operator already in place, I doubt if any other airline would be in a rush to complete. I well can see why Loganair wish to move on the Scotland to England routes (including Manchester) flown by Flybe as it adds to their current network very neatly offering more to their established 'home' market. They will be stretched enough taking on those without taking on a route with little relevance to their principal network and established markets.
The Liverpool to Isle of Man connection has been growing steadily over the past few years, partly down to competition and consumer choice. My fear, based on past occasions when the route has gone from competition down to a single operator is that fares will rise and passengers numbers retrench. Working with 2018 figures, the two airlines both have around 50% of the market between LPL and IoM with around 125,000 - 130,000 passengers each.
One thing becoming clear is that this is going to be a really tough summer for the airline, indeed global travel industry, due to Coronavirus fears. Just recall how 9-11 hit consumer confidence for well over 12 months after a single day of events - not that terrorism and disease are really comparable!
The next few days will be interesting as operators sort out what parts of the Flybe network will work for them and which to leave alone.

I see that easyJet are taking full advantage as the lone operator on the IOM route by putting the fares on their flights next week into the hundreds of pounds! I have never understood why the Manx government have not encouraged a local carrier. The last decent operator it had was Manx, which did the job well because it was based on the island and the early departures were guaranteed about 95% of the time. In the mid-80s, the IOM was the biggest supplier of Concorde passengers outside the SE of England, not least because people could rely on the service and thus connections through Heathrow and Manchester. FlyBe, for good reasons, was known on the island as Flymaybe. Its performance on other routes, for all sorts of reasons, was not exactly stellar either, and has no doubt contributed to its demise, sad as it is.
Perhaps it's time for the IoM government to bite the bullet and set up an island-based operator. It seems to work well for Aurigny, whose situation is very similar. I know that Aurigny loses money, but as the posting in Wikipedia suggests, it's not always just about the money. The IoM's GDP is double that of Guernsey's:
The airline has been loss-making for a number of years; however its services have been viewed as essential to Guernsey's economy, etc. - a May 2017 strategic review said "that Aurigny’s objectives should focus on supporting economic enablement and providing a backbone of air services to support the Bailiwick [of Guernsey]’s economy and its growth, providing access to affordable air travel to the UK.
