The Museum known as MOTAT is contained with in own site, sharing the entire site with the Auckland zoo. The first part of the museum deals with vehicles, buildings and technology. The aviation building is a tram ride away within the whole museum site. The cost to get in is $ 10 NZD per person and includes the tram ride to the aviation building.
Outside the Aviation building is a Hurricane on a pole, sadly this is a plastic model.

At the back of the building across an old concrete area is the restoration building. Inside I found the nose section of Hastings NZ 5801 / 01 and a DC 3 ZK BQK

The whole museum is worth a visit, but sadly it does not have it's own car park and you have to park where you can on the surrounding roads. Each road has a different time limit how long you can park for. Some roads only allow 30 minutes, others an hour or two. If anyone is thinking of visiting the museum watch the car parking signs, the fines are very steep if you overstay your time.
