This had been advertised locally without much enthusiasm, so I went there in the same frame of mind and I wasn't disappointed, but I thought it would make a change for me to post some modern colour images! Very little parked outside, only as per the images, and the runway was being used, Santa Pod style, for drag racing for both cars and motorbikes, so very little flying, obviously. A few of the local residents were parked near the tower: Apparently this was a visitor, as it was parked away from the other aircraft. The two Yaks were due to do aerobatics, or what for some reason Sywell called Aerial Acrobatics, but I didn't hang around for that. Rather them than me - especially when they looped the loop! A couple of engines to finish off with: This may well have powered a B-25 at one time. If you ever want to learn some new swear-words, ask an engineer about overhauling a Wright Cyclone engine - they hated them! Without checking on the internet, what sort of engine is this? This guy regularly appears at Santa Pod and that vehicle is road-legal! It will do 150 mph, even without the jet engine lit. I was speaking to him a while back and I asked him if he gets people coming alongside him at the lights, with the intention of burning him off, to which he replied "All the time!" Of course, he doesn't use it to go to ASDA - no room to put the shopping... It's a Viper, by the way. And last, but not least, the Hunter F2 WN 904 outside the museum.
