Won't challenge the SIPA Mini-Jet as the smallest civilian jet to visit Liverpool. However in the '60s a MS.760 Paris III visited a couple of times. Both pilot and passengers entered 'jet-fighter style' up a ladder and climbed in under a hinged canopy to access their seats, rather than through a cabin door. Added in on 'edit' I'm mistaken - the original military Paris had a full sliding canopy which was retained on aircraft sold second hand on the civilian market, the sole much redesigned Paris III aimed at the civilian market had what is described as a 'car type' door - to save the blushes of female passengers when entering.
For the record, first visit by a MS.760 Paris: D-INGA 12th July 1963 - which places the visit before the first jet airliner, a Caravelle OO-SRC 26th November 1964 and the first visit by what we could term a 'conventional' biz-jet design in the form of a DH.125 G-ASSI 10th March 1965. Before anyone suggests it, the diminutive Bede BD-5 never visited Liverpool.
"Neil", I'm interested in a for a link for the description of the May 1956 SSAFA display you quote either by PM or a public post.

Hi,
It’s funny you should mention the Paris
My brother is friends with Aero Passion at Dole Airport in France and they have just announced that their latest acquisition will be leaving the US for France over the next few days
N760X MS.760 Paris
I presume at some point it should stop in the UK??
If I hear anymore I will post something
Ian

The Paris photo dates are: F-BLKL visited twice, ten years apart, 21st October 1971 and 30th April 1980. Certainly in 1971 used by Aerospatiale as an inter-factory shuttle, but for some reason in 1971 used Liverpool rather than either Hawarden or Warton. No.58 coded 65-LF c/s F-RBLB called once on 5th November 1985. On the Paris visiting aircraft thread I note that this became N760F. derbosoft.proboards.com/thread/2789

I don't think they had what was HMC&E at Hawarden or Warton in those days.
