Interesting. Two Loganair departures to IOM this morning 10 mins apart. First Atr 42 G-LMRA. Second G- SAJF. E145 Time 8.50 it’s a race who lands first
Won by the ATR. However the E145 has carried out a missed approach and gone around. FR 24 reports fog at IOM
9.10 Another missed approach. Climbing away now, diverting? Now at 5000ft on a heading of 102
could this E145 be on a training flight? Now done a u turn back towards IOM
Now in a climbing holding pattern, about 30 miles SE of airfield.
9.42. Looks like it’s on its way back to LPL

A late decision took me to Speke today: D-CAUW - Cessna 560 Citation Encore by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr D-CAUW - Cessna 560 Citation Encore by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr G-CPTM - Piper PA-28-151 Cherokee Warrior by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr G-SAJK - Embraer ERJ-145EP - Loganair by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr G-PDGX - Vulcanair SPA P68C-TC - Ravenair by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr D-CAUW - Cessna 560 Citation Encore by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr ....and the star spot of the day: G-WBRD - Avro Curtiss 1911 Waterbird replica C/N RHC1 - Lakes Flying Company by Philip Gaulton, on Flickr At first I thought that this was arriving and being unloaded, until it suddenly moved off and left.I'm surprised that its existence on site has gone unobserved and unrecorded. The original is often described as the first Royal Navy seaplane, which first flew on Windermere in 1911 and was destroyed in a gale inside its hangar. The first flight of the replica was recently featured on "Yesterday". Further information can be found online, but a couple of good sites are: www.waterbird.org.uk/www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-9513351/Royal-Navys-seaplane-championed-Churchill-1911-takes-skies-again.htmlSome of the pictures used on both sites appear to have been taken outside of the Skyport hangar! A question for Viscount....is this a first visit of type Phil
