In formation with ZH893; they crossed the Formby Bypass just as I came off the Freshfield roundabout.
In response to those that have requested visual confirmation, I read all three off from the fence and can confirm their respective serials as ZA708, ZH893 and ZH896.

ZH896 overhead ormskirk heading North East again, was this read off or is it another toyradar log? ilt, sounds like you don't like toy radar apps.I read ZH896 off at Woodvale yesterday, it was the only one there at the time. ZH896 at RAF Woodvale on 22-06-2021 by Philip Robinson, on Flickr

Not that I don't like them as such Phil...they are a useful tool for hobby users but it seems to me people don't understand them. The registration is NOT a primary source, the ICAO 24 bit address IS. Logging should perhaps be by the ICAO address being transmitted ...it certainly shouldn't be by registration (though for spamcans it is rarely a problem).
My issue is the reliance on them and the reporting of registrations as though they are 'fact'. Lots of odd info from previous egg beater deployments at Woodvale but to take a more recent example as the current Woodvale frames have now benn confirmed: people 'logged' XW216 into Barton for fuel yesterday (along with XW237) based on whichever website tracker they used. The frame was XW232 NOT XW216 though. Does that matter?....well to those people who collect registrations it might/should? *
* I don't 'collect' registrations (never have) but I am interested in which (UK military) frames are in use

Assuming you are driving down the bypass towards Southport, as you pass the airfield you want to be in the right hand lane. Right after the 30 mph limit starts (and before you get to the junction for the coast road to Southport) there is a set of traffic lights where you want to turn right onto the pre-bypass era Liverpool to Southport main road. Almost immediately on the right hand side is an area where you can usually pull in and park without any bother and it is then a short walk back to the airfield.
At the main gate there is a sign saying the footpath is closed beyond that point but the actual works are all the way back at Freshfield so you should not have any problem walking further down the fence should you need to. If they are parked against the tree line as they were earlier in the week you should be able to see them sufficiently well to read off in the gaps between the buildings. Not sure about weekend operations but to date two of the three have headed-off to Leeming shortly after 09.00 and rtb somewhere around 15.30. The spare seems to hang around at Woodvale most of the time but has been known to take to the air for a local flight.
