Three amateur cine films have just been restored and uploaded by Manx National Heritage to Utube; www.youtube.com/watch?v=2epzrAqrWnAThe second two will follow on from this first link No sound unfortunately, but plenty of DC-3s from BEA, Manx, BKS, Scottish, Lancashire, and Aer Lingus plus Silver City/Lancashire Bristols and various Rapides. Also lots of quaint vehicles. The films were most probably taken on a Saturday when most of the week-long coach-holiday packages would arrive together. There was very little airline traffic outside the weekend summer periods. The Air Traffic Control video shows an operation (and Airport) still very much under UK Air Ministry control, and it was the 1960s before it was transferred to the Isle of Man Government's Airports Board.
