Hi Everyone from CYKA.
In September of 1971 a group of us from MAS went for a photo tour of RAF Woodvale to get some pictures of the Meteor's. Would anyone have any pictures from that visit that they can post? I have in my computer the date as 4th September 1971.
Aircraft I logged on that date are:- WF 791 WH 453 WD 646 WM 224
Many thanks,
Paul

A little surprised that no one has responded to this request yet, so I shall. The log of the visit was published in the September 1971 edition of MAS 'Flypast', with some Gerry Manning photos following the month after. I've scanned the report and photo page, isolating just the items of interest. Trip 'Log' as published in MAS Flypast of September 1971, scanned and enlarged, very likely compiled by Phil Butler. Gloster Meteor F.8 WH453 of 5 CAACU on 4th September 1971 scanned and enlarged from MAS Flypast October 1971, Gerry Manning Gloster Meteor T.7 WF791 of 5 CAACU on 4th September 1971 scanned and enlarged from MAS Flypast October 1971, Gerry Manning DHC.1 Chipmunk T.10 WK624 in the colours of Manchester UAS on 4th September 1971 scanned and enlarged from MAS Flypast October 1971, Gerry Manning Can anyone do better than these once tiny pixel printed images from Flypast, either directly by PM to Paul in Canada or via a post on this thread?

Hi Viscount,
Thank you for posting the report on our group's visit to RAF Woodvale. It is hard to imagine it was 50 years ago.
It brought back a good memory of those early years.
Many thanks,
Paul ( CYKA )

Here is a photo of the Manchester UAS Chipmunks taken in 1971, on their Summer Camp at RAF Ouston in Northumberland. The photo was taken and submitted by Roland G Adams of 641 Gliding School, and restored by myself. WK624, WD390, WP900, Manchester UAS, Ouston, 1971 photo Roland G Adams w by Philip Pain, on Flickr Visible are (left to right) WD390, WK624, and WP900. There is a fourth Manchester Chippie to the rear of the group. This area of the hangar was normally occupied by the Northumbrian UAS Chipmunks, so it is assumed that they had also gone off to Summer Camp somewhere. Their colour scheme is light aircraft grey overall with day-glo red fablon strips.
