Does anyone have a full list of the attendees at BAe's 500th 125 sale fly-in at Hawarden on 29th October 1980? The December 1980 edition of 'Flypast' contains an article about it on page 301, but it only lists 17 aircraft, with a potential 18th. The famous photograph of the number '500' formed by parked aircraft on the runway uses 19 aircraft, so there were at least that number present. Other than the plan view of the '500', I haven't seen any other photographs of this event to check aircraft identities. BAE Systems Heritage does not have any BAe publicity material for the 125 programme in their archive, as it was handed over to Raytheon in 1993 and this was all binned when Hawker Beechcraft went bust in 2012. I'm looking for a photograph suitable and available for publication of this event, and also for the the 600th sale fly-in held on 23rd May 1985 for which I have also not been able to source an illustration for a forthcoming publication.

Hi brucel I'm sorry I don't have a full list of attendees for the 500th as I was overseas at the time. Fuelling records aren't much help either as all visitors were lumped into one total issue. Apart from the 125's though, the following were there:
G-AHBL DH.87B Hornet Moth 8135 U.H Hamilton G-AOTI DH.114 Heron 2D 14107 Avtech Ltd G-AREA DH.104 Dove 8 04520 British Aerospace PLC G-CBIA BAC 1-11 Srs.416EK H166 British Island Airways G-VTII WZ507 DH.115 Vampire T.11 15127 Vampire Preservation Group
You probably have a better list than me of the 125's as I only have
G-AVPE HS.125-F3B/RA 25127 British Aircraft Corporation G-BJCB HS.125-600B 256065 J.C Bamford Excavators Ltd G-HHOI B.Ae.125-700B 257097 Trust House Forte PLC / Field Aircraft Services Ltd G-IBIS HS.125-3B/RA 25171 Ibis Ltd / McAlpine Aviation Ltd G-OBAE B.Ae.125-700B 257094 British Aerospace PLC G-TJCB B.Ae.125-700B 257127 J.C Bamford Excavators Ltd XW930 HS.125-1B 25009 Royal Aircraft Establishment - Bedford

Thanks Bruce
Looks like AVPE is one of your missing birds. I have reservations about TJCB being there, will have a dig into my source documents to see if I can confirm.
cheers
