Not sure where to put this , just watching Granada reports and they are saying EZY have cancelled all flights from Manchester to IOM for 4 months from July. Nothing was said about LJLA flights to the IOM though,to me the airline could be using the crews on more lucrative flts from MAN so the Manx people could suffer,i don't think Loganair could pick up the extra pax, even when they do restart the flts it will be a winter schedule.

Of course it is, Easy are in a mess, let's hope they survive the year. BOB. They haven't had it easy however by them taking out 3 seats to fly with one less crew saves them a lot of money rather than hiring one. A salary of 19K for an extra crew or loose 3 seats than can be sold at £30 for example. Its a no brainer.

From Admin: I uphold the comment that info of easyJet's cancellation of Manchester-Isle of Man services is not best reported on the 'Liverpool News' section of the forum. Going to think overnight where best to move it: leave it alone where it is as subjects covered here soon move on; Manchester Movements; Isle of Man movements; or Industry News? Probably the later is the best fit, although a relatively quiet backwater on the Forum while the first, leave it alone, is easiest for Admin.
I've personally got 7 easyJet legs booked for '22: 2 completed in May with no issues, 2 this weekend (1 moved to a day earlier by EJU, one simply canx by EJU with 14 days notice), 3 more in mid July (2 UK internal flights) - mostly on different routes involving AGP, EDI, LPL, BRS, STN. It is not a reassuring position to be in, as none of the upcoming flights use JLA. Will be watching my e-mails like a hawk 14 days before travel! Hopefully the reduction of, for example, Gatwick services imposed by airport restrictions, frees crews to keep schedules running from other bases.
Should easyJet not survive beyond the end of year, and I personally hope the doom brigade have that completely wrong, Liverpool and other Airports such as the Isle of Man would suffer very seriously as there is no British operator left of the size and experience to simply step into the gap left. Ryanair would simply look for the most lucrative routes, not those that best serve the population. The European connections would be picked-off by Vueling, Eurowings, Transavia; Norwegian, Ryanair but on British internal services (Belfast, IOM & Jersey provide a great number of JLA pax) could Eastern or Loganair step up to A.320s?
Hangar 4, I think you have the easyJet thinking behind reducing the cabin staff on their A.319 by 1 as the result of sealing off 6 seats the wrong way around. The action is stated to be a short-term measure to spread the staff they have around further, so being able to operate more flights each day, rather than saving money by reducing staff to save wage bills. Every 6 cabin staff saved for the sake of 6 (not always occupied) seats per flight provides a extra aircraft of cabin crew to operate on the crew roster.
From Admin: Thread subsequently moved from 'Liverpool Airport - News' to 'Industry News'.
