I decided to take a punt on Blackpool for the Airshow participants - not one of my better ideas in a heatwave, two hours to get there and a baking (unbearable) 40c at the back of Morrisons. I did however catch up with the L-39A Albatross and got some reasonable photos from various locations and cul de sacs.

I was thinking of going, but I knew the traffic would be bad and the heat was just too much
Good shots Martin

Good pictures as always I went on Saturday to the airshow there were no ques to get into town it was straight through from Runcorn, but it took nearly 4 hours to get home after the show as it was backed up for miles. The airshow wasn't as good as other shows as the aircraft seemed to be at a bigger distance away from the crowd.

Thanks guys, the main hold ups were from the M65 / M6 merge up to the M55. Google maps helped me to bypass the gridlock at the end of the M55. Feeling a bit worse for the heat I left before the Red Arrows and had no holdups.
The Chinook had no visible serial on it - the rear end was a different shade of green and it looked like it has had major repairs at some point. Identified from FR24 assuming it was fitted with the correct box.

Martin the chinook is ZA720 as I can make it out on one of my photos and I've seen it on another photo from a blackpool spotters group. So it's been fitted with the right box
