After Waddington I drove down to Lakenheath to see the detachment of 14 F-16s from Aviano. It was a bit of a risk weather-wise as thunderstorms were forecast, but fortunately the worst of the rain fell during the night.
6 Sep...a couple of Top Aces Alpha Jets were over from Canada for aggressor training.

My favourite F-16s were this particular type C with a pewter grey colour scheme, and the 2-seater 90-0800.

And a few of the based aircraft:

7 Sep...90-0773 had a suspected undercarriage problem, and circled for a while before making a safe landing. It took a good 30 minutes for it to be checked and towed to the other end of the runway and into a shelter.

87-0350 did a few circuits with some nice clouds in the background.
