So we flew out on a very early Easyjet from Manchester. Worthy of note since despite making many trips with Easyjet it was my first 320NEO. Not sure what I expected but it was the same as all the others. Nice flight , first pictures therefore some scenic ones as sun came up over the Alps

This was only item of note on arrival.
The next few are not aircraft but quite frightening at the time. Bear in mind we were on Norwegian Gem a 90000 ton cruise ship. Weather as can be seen from first couple of images was awful. Driving rain, rubbish visibility and sea swell must have been several metres. Even our ship was rocking about. Captain announced that we had come to an "emergency" stop due to distress call from a sailboat. When we came to a halt you can make out through the murk a small boat tied to a large ship. There must have been about 4 other cargo ships stopping nearby in the murk , and another cruise ship. After a bit captain called fro stretcher party and our lifeboats went over to the cargo ship/sailboat. An hour ( several G&Ts !!) later the lifeboats made their way back. Took them ages to get back due sea state, and our ship had to turn side on to weather/sea to give calm enough conditions. Eventually tied up and I guess everyone assumed perhaps half a dozen people would get on board. People started to get off the lifeboat, you children, babies, women and they kept coming. Sailboat was left to drift off. Turns out there was 85, yes 85 migrants on that tiny boat. Unbelievable, they must have all been terrified in that sea. We were off Albania so I guess they were trying to get to Corfu, but miles off course. They were so lucky as that little thing was bobbing and tilting over, amazed it did not sink. Really brought home how desperate some people are to flee whatever. We headed for Corfu and transferred to some Greek coastguard vessels.

Interesting to still see an Alitalia. Sorry about quality, iPhone through glass.
