Malaga, Malta & Reus for summer 25. More good news They were noted 14 months ago on this thread. So Winter 24 has been announced with 8 destinations. Tenerife - x5 Lanzerote - x3 Gran Canaria - x2 Fuerteventura - x2 Funchal - x1 Alicante - x3 Paphos - x1 Antalya - x2 They seem to be making a good start here. Hopefully by Summer 25 we start to see a full network akin to the other bases in the UK, with one more based aircraft, we could then hopefully see something along these lines with the extra aircraft: First wave: Malaga - x3 Reus - x1 Dubrovnik - x1 Split - x1 Naples - x1 Second wave: Kefalonia - x1 Skiathos - x1 Santorini - x1 Mykonos - x1 Chania - x1 Larnaca - x1 Izmir - x1

Currently on Skiathos Island and it would be wonderful for Jet2 to start flights to the likes of here, Kefalonia etc.
Flights coming in from East Midlands and Newcastle so surely we can’t be far off and we can start travelling to the vast majority of the Greek Isles from Liverpool rather than trek to Manchester.

Bit of reading up on Jet2 tonight after returning from a week in Dubrovnik with them today.
Looking to the S26 launch in the next few weeks, if we look at routes that EMA & NCL currently have that we don’t, I’m sure we can expect to see some of these hit our boards soon:
Chania Dubrovnik Girona Izmir Kefalonia Larnaca Naples Santorini Skiathos Verona
Considering Izmir & Larnaca are currently served by easyJet, I think they could be favourites to be added because of the competition.
Santorini from EMA terminates at the end of this summer, but continues from NCL so this one may be doubtful.
Chania is served from NCL but not EMA and we currently have a Heraklion service, so this may also be doubtful.
I’d say Dubrovnik is nailed on, it’s a growing market with a huge British presence in the region now and I believe we’re the only Jet2 base bar Bournemouth without a flight there.
Same goes for Naples & Verona.
Kefalonia and Skiathos are intriguing ones. Both perform very well from Manchester on pretty much daily schedules as well as having flights from pretty much all other bases. I can see these being added.
Girona is a strange one, it seems to maintain flights from most bases but with multiple easyJet and Ryanair flights to Barcelona from Liverpool, is there a market?
I can certainly see us going upto 6 aircraft and self handling. Would they go for 7 aircraft, add all these routes and increase frequencies on others? I’m not so sure but another aircraft and self handling seem likely so my guess is that 8 new routes on upto twice weekly frequencies could be the way they’re going to go.
Dubrovnik x2 Girona x1 Izmir x1 Kefalonia x2 Larnaca x2 Naples x2 Skiathos x1 Verona x2

BCN from Liverpool with easyJet is not good, so maybe Jet2 can fill that gap.

An interesting analysis. Am I right in thinking that additional aircraft will depend up having somewhere to park them? Santotini is not such a good idea in my opinion. It's a beautiful island, except when the cruise ships turn up which is most days, and sometimes several in the day. Then the island becomes one heaving mass of people, making it one of the most unpleasant tourist destinations on earth. Local people are trying to put an end to the ships.

Totally agree with you about Santorini. There is nothing there, once you have seen the ( I only counted about3) blue domes it’s just a seething mass of people. Mind you flying to Athens in the morning for Greek island cruise. !!!

If we continue to see an increase in passenger numbers , terminal will be too small . Anyone aware of its design capacity and do things like terminals have a do not exceed from for eg an insurance perspective?

6.5m, I think although the main constraints are normally checkin and security. I think that the addition of self checkin by Jet2 may help raise that level. Also Jet2 tend to avoid the early departure rush - part of the family friendly’ offer. That will spread out the peaks a bit, further raising capacity.

Whilst we should welcome Jet2's expansion for Summer 2025, the 3 new destinations to Malaga, Malta and Reus, are less than inspiring. So, I do not know what new destinations to expect for 2026 or whether they will merely add frequencies to existing destinations to keep a possible 6th aircraft busy.
Expansion would be welcome but not a given. But, let's be hopeful.

Has there been any hint from the airport or Jet2 that’s they will expand to a 6th AC or is this just speculation ?
