At 1500hrs yesterday (27/6/11) an employee of Merseyflight was taking soil from the "mound" for use in planting a "garden" of potted plants around the Merseyflight office. .................or was he burying the (photographic) evidence?

We would like to point out that we put out a request for photographs and contacted certain individuals that had a particular talent with Aviation photography. In that case how come both Beemer & Mic have stated in this exact thread that they have never been asked for permission to use there photo's on your Flickr, Website & Facebook page! and you have not credited them for taking the photographs? At no point were they copied from any website as some have suggested. Can you prove that they have not been, Also the Exif data on the photo's that they have been Used without permission and crediting them to him. I know Mic's photo's appear on here, Facebook, the Aviationcafe forum, the Simviation Forum & His own website, Can you explain that If as you have Put they haven't been copied from any website??Personally I think your trying to worm your way out of this situation which you know for a fact your in the wrong by Stealing the photographs and using them as Your Own.

Merseyflight would like to appologise unreservedly for anybody that has been upset by the reproduction of their photographs. We would like to point out that we put out a request for photographs and contacted certain individuals that had a particular talent with Aviation photography. We received many responses to our request and yes we used a number of the photographs that were submitted to us. At no point were they copied from any website as some have suggested. If anybody has seen a picture that they believe to be theirs and wishes it to be removed please let us know. Merseyflight is Liverpool's No1 flying school. It flys more than twice the number of flights of it's closest competitor in any given week, month or year proving that it is the No1 choice for the North West, UK and Europe. I find it hard to believe that they were not copied from any website....did they magically appear on your flickr and facebook then? Please remove immediately all of my photos, and having copied them yourself you'll probably know which ones they are, but if not, then I refer you to these; You may keep this one on Facebook, as long as you credit it as being taken from an LFS aircraft. Otherwise, please remove it. I would kind of understand if these were photos of your aircraft, and may have been happy to let you use them if they were, but to just steal some completely unrelated airliner shots and an aerial shot of Liverpool without asking is UNACCEPTABLE. All I can say is I'm glad I'm with LFS now....if the only reason you believe you're #1 is that you fly twice as much as your nearest competitor, that says nothing to me about customer care, values or honesty, which so far seem to be lacking. These are all points I look for in a decent organisation and have found at LFS, even if they don't fly as many hours as you. .mic PS, to clarify for anyone who may be confused by the lies in Merseyflight's response: I was NEVER contacted and didn't even reply to your request for photos thread

I do not want this thread to get into a We are the best flying school saga, I just want the right thing doing by those people whose photos you have been using without their permission.
However, following your statement, I thought I might just take a sample week from the logs I use to compile the Liverpool Airport monthly reviews for NWAN. Not particularly scientific, but for the first seven days in May (I only have movements up to the end of May at the moment) I counted the following departures:-
Liverpool Flying School - 57 departures Ravenair - 27 departures Merseyflight - 35 departures.
your quote was ,
Well, that is a given week!
But, as bobbyefc says, I think it is time to just put this to bed and move on.

I'm happy to put this to bed once my photos have been removed. As for 'registration', there shouldn't be a fee. Under British copyright law any photographs remain the property of the person who took them by default unless the copyright is given away. One solution is to watermark photos, but I personally don't like looking at pictures that are ruined by intrusive watermarks. All I as a photographer can do therefore is keep a look out for when my pictures are misused. Plus, with the 7D's handy EXIF copyright tool, unless the core EXIF is removed, there will always be evidence that the photo is mine, making any infringements easy to prove Still waiting on them to be taken down 12 hours after the original reply..... .mic

There's a saying;
'All publicity is good publicity.'
However I see this skulduggery as the exception to the rule!
'Aim gun at foot, pull trigger.' is a more apt statement

The simple answer is to remove te offender as they obviously are still missing several clear points in this.
