There are further steam pulled excursions from Liverpool this summer. In addition to the Liverpool - Carlisle day-returns for each of the 5 Mondays in August (see reply #8) on the previous page, in the 28th April Merseymart further advert reveals more steam pulled day return excursions: THE NORTH WALES COAST EXPRESSFrom Liverpool and Chester to Holyhead, steam pulled throughout. Runs on Sundays 7th, 14th & 21st August. Fares from £65 adult standard class - first & premier at a suppplement. A 1000 departure from Lime Street runs via Edge Hill to collect passengers at Broad Green and Warrington Bank Quay, then Frodsham to Chester and onwards. THE CUMBRIAN MOUNTAIN EXPRESSFrom Liverpool, over Shap to Carlisle, returning by the spectacular Settle-Carlisle line. Runs on Saturdays 23rd July, 6th & 20th August. Fares from £79 adult. THE COAST TO COAST EXPRESSFrom Liverpool Lime Street to Scarborough, crossing the country, steam pullled, from Irish Sea to North Sea. Departs Saturday 2nd July, fares from £75 adult. Further steam in the region includes on Tuesday 26th July, 9th & 23rd August from Preston 0830, then pick-ups at Warrington Bank Quay, Frodsham (for water) and Chester then onwards into North Wales.
