I think we are fast nearing the time anyway when people who have been actually hands on affected by WW2 will no longer be with us due to age. I clearly remember my father who was a 25 pound artillery gunner in the 8th Army in Africa stuck in Tobruck, actually hiding under the dinner table when it thundered or on bonfire night as it brought back memories he did not want. One glimmer is perhaps ir may help to stop things like it happening again by being able to teach the youngsters something of the bad history surrounding things like that.

Think you're missing the point here -
I don't think anyone is objecting to a replica of something; but merely this canal boat in particular made to parody/mock a U-Boat.
In your example - no one would mind a replica Stuka aircraft but imagine if a bus was operated made to look like a V2.
