Construction work is well underway at the junction of Speke Boulevard and Speke Hall Road. Is this still going to be a cinema complex owned by Stellios? Looks like it's going to be big whatever it is.

Traffic is bad enough now at the junction. It will get much worse.

Strictly speaking the site is at the junction of Speke Boulevard (or is it simply Speke Road) and Speke Hall Avenue. Also there are plans for a Leisure Complex as an extension to the New Mersey Retail Park (on current car storage area). See: www.leisureproperty.com/detail1.cfm?pagetype=detail&subject=news&codeID=257203&site=LP&dom=NTraffic is only going to increase at the junction! Good job the main airport traffic periods don't coincide with the usual 'rush' hours! However it is noticeable how busy that area is at most time during the day now, compared with only a few years ago. Don't mention pre Christmas period!

Your right sfp. I've altered the heading to read Avenue. Speke Boulevard it is though. Speke Road runs from the western side of Speke Hall Avenue to Garston Village whilst Speke Boulevard runs eastward toward the Jaguar factory.
The large increase in traffic is due to the retail park growing in popularity coupled with business growth on the Estuary Park and at the Matchworks. This is now compounded throughout the day due to a significant increase in slow moving lorries transporting goods for both B&M's Vault and the print works.
There must now be a strong case for the Airport link road to the A5300 via Hale Road to be built. Whilst on the subject of roads - has anyone heard how the new Mersey crossing is progressing?
