A press release today by Monarch (I have shortened it a bit): "Monarch is to end nearly four decades as a charter airline and shift its focus to scheduled flights, as more tourists shy away from traditional package holidays towards cheaper internet deals.
The brand revamp, labelled 'Fly your way. Every day', will see the British carrier compete directly with budget airlines such as easyJet and Ryanair.
By next summer, Monarch expects 80pc of its business to be scheduled, compared with just 20pc five years ago. In a bid to differentiate itself from other budget airlines, Monarch has also scrapped all debit card booking fees from today, while payments by credit card will incur a flat fee of £10 per booking.
Ryanair currently charges £12 per return flight for paying with a debit or credit card, while easyJet charges £8 per booking, plus extra fees for credit card payments."

Since when has Monarch been a British carrier?. Whilst mostly operating to & from the UK the airline has been Swiss owned for many years & I believe that remains the situation.

Whilst they are Swiss owned they are a British operator - aircraft registered in Britain.

easyJet have announced that the're putting a 7th aircraft into MAN next year to cover some more holiday destinations, maybe Monarch, if they are to take on both FR and EZY, will base an aircraft in LPL?

seems like Monarch are going to have a large enough battle on their own 'turf' at MAN, so, do they have enough resources to battle at LPL too?

You are not playing the game davel. Apparently its very easy for pax to go from Liverpool to MAN but its like walking up Mount Everest in a snow storm with a football boot on one foot and a flip flop on the other to go the other way!

LPL, maybe your reply is in reference to something else, but, Davel never mentioned, nor is it in the quote that he said it is hard to get to LPL? He was asking if ZB will base aircraft at LPL?
