Does anyone have a list of dates that the volcanic ash clouds closed LPL in 2011 and 2012?

Have a look at the appropriate month in the 2010 Airport Log on www.nwan.co.uk. for information regarding dates etc. Also look back for comment on the daily entries in this section, many index pages back. A Google search would yield the dates from newspaper archives etc. I did not know that LJLA was shut by volcanic ash during 2011 though. In fact apart from a RYR Derry outbound that diverted to Belfast and the possible cancellation of a few Aberdeen flights, I am not aware of much impact on Liverpool - which may have even gained passengers as the result of several diversions of flights inbound further north.

Thanks for that.
If I have it right then LPL lost approx one days worth of flights in May 2010.

Hi when i worked at LPL last year April 2010, i was forced to take holidays from the airport due to it being closed for the ash cloud The easyJet and Ryanair aircraft that i worked on where either stuck at LPL or at other airports..
The days i was off are as follows
Thursday April 15th - 16th -17th-18th-19th -20th.. In my shift calendar i have written airport re opens on the Wednesday 21st April 2010..
I don't know what if any aircraft may have moved. during that period, but it gives you a rough date of occurrence. Hope it helps.

If the title of this thread is to believed, LPL is hoping one of us is a clairvoyant and can see if ash clouds will close LJLA for next year, 2012 and on which dates !
If someone has the information, could we all have it please? Then we can get down to William Hills, Paddy Power or BetFred and make some money.
