Regardless of Manchester, I think the problem you have is that KLM wouldn't be happy if an airline serving long haul routes direct came to Liverpool as it would take a substantial amount of their traffic.
And its very difficult to attract any other short/medium haul European airlines to Liverpool as RYR & EZY have such a foothold on the place. They can take you to pretty much anywhere in Europe charging half of what other airlines do.
Having said that, Liverpool's on track to have its best year ever (pax numbers) so surely it's not all doom and gloom, even though it feels that way. No news is good news and all that palarva...

Oslo Rygge and Stockholm Skavsta are unavailable to book after 23rd March 34 Ryanair routes have now been loaded for next summer. Alicante, Poznan, Toulon and Wroclaw still have the dates listed in the timetable, so hopefully will appear soon. Girona, Rygge, Seville and Stockholm no longer have dates listed, so could have been dropped. These routes had a total of 11 flights last year. Hopefully they are to be flown by non-based aircraft. There are less flights at present on 7 routes at present, totalling 15 flights a week, but perhaps these will be listed later.

Interesting, Almeria is a good route. Monarch are pulling the Manchester to Almeria route from the same day.
Ryanair has dropped Toulon from Liverpool for Summer 2012.

All seven of the LPL-BCN flights are with Liverpool based aircraft.
I will miss the Girona service, as I used it to drive up into France.

New route to Lviv is reported on Daily Post website. So much for MOL saying LPL will not expand! Are things in MAN not all that rosey?

I presume the Ryanair schedules for the summer have now been finalised.
The only good news is that a Dublin based aircraft is to fly DUB-LPL-DUB each weekday morning making day trips possible again.
