For some reason tonight, my auto login vanished and I was asked to log in again. I made a mess of the password and, as a result, was directed to a page which I found offensive, in that you are basically telling people they are thick for having gone there.
In itself, this is unacceptable, but furthermore, the message to then be input " women and children first" is of an almost unreadable font size.
It is simply childish and would seem to be some form of sick and misguided punishment. Who ever instituted it, may think it funny and ammusing to them, but certainly I don't.

Happened again this morning and despite having input my correct password this morning, was told it was incorrect and "to prove that I was human" go to the "PLAY" screen, where today you have to input "indian summ er"...yes the gap is deliberate..........
Is this Proboards or someone closer to home behaving like a moron?

Maybe you've picked up a virus on your PC.

Although more usually a series of random letters of different sizes and font, it is a device to prevent electronic joining of the forum in order to spread junk posts (of which we suffered a spate not that long ago).
Or is something else that you are commenting about, having not suffered the sequence of events you are currently going through I cannot comment with any certainty?

Viscount is correct and numerous web sites use this secure system to enter the site or forum, if you fail to input the right password. If that fails close the page down and start again. One way to avoid it and it works 100% is input the correct PW.

The moderator has been unable to use his own PC for a couple of days, but did briefly manage to look-in on the site. He PM'ed me a reply to other matters, and also commented that the random phrases used are not intended as 'childish', but are placed there by Proboards to prevent "spam" posts. He himself had to go through the process to log-in. Apparently it is to prevent "bot" automated joining and log-in used by spammers, you have to be human, rather than a child, to read and repeat the text! So the process, as already pointed out by Biggles is there to protect the site. Remember the consternation and confusion caused a few months ago by twice daily nonsensical "junk mail/spam" American political rants appearing in random sections of this forum at a time when the moderator was on holiday?

Just exit the forum and re-enter using the correct password. This avoids the need to read and copy a string of illegible text.
