No problem, As for the 2004 airshow both days were heavily affected by the weather particularly the Saturday, I remember the show being curtailed on the saturday due to a front of rain and wind moving in around 3 pm I remember the Hunter starting its display but then being enveloped by the wind and rain and then abandoning ship. Also the beach assault with army and helicopters etc was ruined too. BBMF cancelled as did many other items although the wingwalkers made it and put on a fantastic display as did the Tornado F3 sadly Jaguar didnt display due to atrocious conditions. I also remember the T33 silver star going fuel critical and having to return to duxford saturday I think, also remember the yakovlevs or aerostars displaying on saturday. On the Sunday 4 Harriers displayed and hovered for the crowd also poor weather meant the catalina made one flyby before returning to Duxford on the sunday but may have been the saturday having read the link below. Here is a link to a report from the sunday of the show. Hope it helps :- probably worst weekend weatherwise ever at the show surpassed only by the Sunderland airshow 2008 affected both days by Heavy Seafog when hardly anything flew. www.airsceneuk.org.uk/airshow04/southport/southport.htmEddie

As regards the 2008 airshow, in addition to saturday team guinot great war team, and BBMF didnt make it on the sunday. Not sure about the other teams but the BBMF did manage to get airborne from coningsby with the Dakota and Two Spitfires or Dakota and Spitfire XIX not sure which but one of those is right, sadly they encountered bad weather transiting to the show and had to turn back to coningsby.

At the 1995 airshow I remember the Bae Mosquito and Raspberry Ripple coloured Canberra. The BBMF attended on the Saturday with the Lancaster and two Spitfires VB AB910 and IIA P7350. When I went on the Sunday only P7350 appeared with the Lancaster PA474 remember two Wessex helos and the excellent Rover Pair with Brian Lecomber in one of the planes. I also remember the Spitfire XVI TD248 ground attack/ tailchase with the Intrepid Aviation P51 Mustang, I really enjoyed the show it had many highlights.

at the 2005 airshow, I know the Lancaster of the bbmf appeared on the Sunday, I was there did the customary three ship display with Hurricane LF363 and Spitfire XIX PM631. The BBMF Dakota appeared later for a solo display. at the 1996 airshow the Twin pioneer only appeared sunday and the fairey firefly of the RNHF appeared only on saturday, and the Swordfish of RNHF only on the Sunday, hope this helps. BBMF Lancaster with Spitfire XIX PS915 appeared on Saturday, and only the Lancaster appeared on the Sunday possible due to technical problems with PS915.

To answer a question asked on this thread a while back. I believe the first year pedestrians were charged to enter the seafront at the Southport Airshow was 2001. And I believe its was £1 I may be wrong though ! unless anyone can confirm this ?

Just an update on the 1999 Southport Airshow. The Hawker Hunter XF516 didn't display on the Saturday, but did on the Sunday, as I was there and I remember it displaying.
