We know fly cruises have operated with flights from LPL to Barbados, and other direct to New York in the past so the feasibility for such flights is possible.
When in 2013 the cruise facilities will be fully functional and operational for such turnarounds then it will make a difference to people coming to Liverpool.
KLM should think again about pulling the Amsterdam world connect service from LPL in view of this.
Joe Anderson needs to be, as suggested, doing more to lobby Peel/KLM to keep the service, as they would also benefit from any European cruise connects from flights. People prefer local flight connects rather than having to travel to/ from MCR airport , or elsewhere

They could of course name the terminal, The Paul McCartney Cruise Liner Terminal and maybe use some of his millions to pay of all the grant money. ;D

Now Southampton are objecting to the Panamax terminal at Seaforth that Peel want to build. Afraid of competition in any form?

Things seem to be moving very rapidly re based ships in 2013/4. Fred Olsen have just released their, "Pre-Launch Offers - 2013-14 Itineraries", and it features 8 departures from and returning to Liverpool with their largest ship Boudicca. First departure 21 April 2013
Doesn't say where it will be berthing, but remember after a very successful period in Liverpool with the ship using less than ideal facilities in the old docks, they pulled out because it was proving unsafe in certain circumstances for the berthing of the ship.
Seems unlikely they will not be using the 'new' Cruise Liner Terminal and adjacent passenger handling facilities.
Wow, they must have moved quickly to get the Liverpool turnarounds featured in a brochure published so recently after the announcement, unless they had it set up just in case.
Either way it shows just how confident they are in the viability of a programme based on Liverpool turnarounds.
Good luck to them!

Seeing how Peel Holdings this week basically held Liverpool to ransom by stating that it was take the development of the waterfront OR we are going elsewhere with our £Billions. I doubt Southampton adding another moan or complaint will or should have much of an effect. Someone needs to tell them to do one rapidly and let Liverpool develop back into a Maritime base it once was and still should be.

Rather than naming it with anyone associated with the Beatles who decided not to remain in or around the city. Why not name it after someone who still remains here and supports Liverpool at every chance.
The "John Bishop Cruise Terminal" sounds just as good to me.

They could name it after FoLA's President. Not only world famous but never left the city. If they do, lets hope there are enough jam butties left in the mine for everyone attending the naming ceremony. Not too sure if the tax-man would be too keen on the idea though ;D.

Would that be the John Bishop that grew up in Runcorn and now lives in Didsbury....?

With cruises beginning to embark and disembark from Liverpool Cruise Terminal on 29th May (Ocean Countess being the first), is there any news on possible flights tied in to these visits?
Would be nice to think LJLA could cash in on this positive development.
