Absolutely brilliant Ron. What a car factory, if that is the correct term to use. It is probably cleaner than my front room. The Brandenburg Gates also brought back memories from a couple of years ago as well. Regards Beemer.

HI Biggles. The events after WW2 illustrate exactly the difference between us and them.
We went for a typical "quick fix" to our problems. I know to those involved at the time, such as my parents, it did not exactly seem like "jam today" but essentially that was the approach of the Atlee Government. Seen in retrospect today the approach was a very short term one based on ideals
Germany, partitioned, and with the west essentially governed by the allies for that critical post war period, adopted a long term approach. Rebuilding on new solid foundations, including new social attitudes with, amongst other things, a different approach to industrial investment, industrial relations and trade unions. The aim was to ensure:- "Never again", so the whole society had to be restructured. Long term.... See the results.....
You might ask, and I wish I knew the answer, why some of the same people responsible for policy making in immediate post war Germany were employing different tactics in the UK.
