Stunning shot, and the fact it was taken away from the Riverside shows the scale of the ship
Thanks for sharing

Thanks. Photos were taken from Everton Brow. Here's a couple more, the latter showing the ship in relation to the Liverpool skyline. Cheers, Dave

Just wondered whether BB followers were aware of the excellent webcams hosted by 'Wirralcam' which show super and regularly updated pictures of the Pier Head area with today the QM2 of course. See: www.wirralcam.org/mobile.shtmlThere is a selection of views accessible from their home page at - www.wirralcam.org ,including ones from cameras at Fort Perch Rock. Enjoy - and thanks also to those posting above for some super pictures of the ship.

I believe Cunard are arranging to bring all of their cruise ships at the same time to Liverpool in celebration of the 175th anniversary in 2015. Samuel Cunard started the line in 1840, in Liverpool of course, now that would make some wonderful photo opportunities for our forum David Baileys!!

Southampton are still digging their heels in over the re invention of Cruise Liners using Liverpool properly. The idiotic thing is that they state as claim that they have had cruise ships since the early 1900`s ? I would have thought that ships sailing as clippers in the early part of 18thC and slave ships an every other Line not to mention Cunard, Canadian Pacific, Elder Dempster, Blue Funnel, Clan Line and many many more don`t count then. Someone tell Southampton and Europe to go forth and multiply. It must be clear with Cunard wanting the whole fleet in The Mersey on one day although 2015 is a significant pointer to a cruise terminal being needed.

Did she dock at the new cruise ship terminal?
Southampton's whining re. Liverpool's plans is quite pathetic and totally hypocritical. Throughout the 20th Century they gradually gained nearly all of Liverpool's liner trade with the loss of thousands of jobs on Merseyside. I am quite sure they didn't complain about that, now they are making it sound like the loss of a few cruise sailings will devastate their economy. What gave Southampton this idea of entitlement is beyond me. I am sure they have benefited from millions in subsidies over the years.
