I see someone has already removed the large dragon motif from the bow Unless it was for safe keeping, they can't blame it on us scousers this time. ;D Nice photos guys - pity it didn't arrive last week. The giants would have been able to use her as a golf tee.

I think that was just painted on by the Builders due to her name and RN have had it painted it off. Shame as it looked good

The motif on the bow was a surprise to me too as I don't recall any navel ship having such an emblem on the hull. Usually any motif is on the funnel and not so prominent. Perhaps it was the builder who put it on (or a Welsh Nationalist!!)

The Dragon motif WAS done by the shipbuilders, I think it looked brilliant and should have stayed but maybe it affected the ships Stealth properties ?
Surprised shot of the Ops room, no arrested imminent then for getting that one ?

There was no problem taking photographs in the Ops Room, the screens were on as you can see, but the images on them were NOT in real time. We had a great time onboard.

I knew there was a valid reason why I never wanted a career in the Navy, that ops room with no windows and the added thought of sitting in somewhere like that in a force 8 or more storm at sea, is it.

It was unusual as i went aboard myself and unlike HMS Daring they allowed you to take photos of the ops room as on daring there was signs up all over the place saying no photography allowed. Great day followed by a tour on the Stavros S Niarchos which was also at the CLT

She only moved further along the Stage as both vessels were open to the public
