I think we will be doing well to hold on to 5.1m. The kicker we have gained from the eighth based easyJet unwinds in August, whilst we will still see the impact of the lost Blue Air routes, together with the discontinued Flybe BHD. I'm not sure how Ryanair is looking for Winter. There appears to be a rolling programme of base closures ongoing.

Ryanair making base closures at the end of August, let`s hope we are not one of them, that could be the reason for for the slow output of routes for S 2020.

Ryanair are blaming a lot of their woes on the max8 problem. Could they cancel their order and move to airbus ? Or would they be stuck with a contract / costs ? Although im sure they must be getting compensation themselves.

Airbus have a full A320 family order book so its doubtful if that will help the situation at this late stage.
Also Ryanair puts their bases into hibernation during the winter anyway which means, as is usual with FR, it all smoke and mirrors.

is brexit deal or no deal holding things up Supposedly the bases rumoured have now been joined by others in the rumour. The list is now said to be Faro, Cork, Girona, Las Palmas and Tenerife-South. All none UK, ie EU bases.

I bet Ryanair are squeezing the airports for more discount.

Given that there is already a significant retrenchment from Germany and loss of a number of UK domestic routes, it does appear that the operation is moving from one of expansion to maybe consolidation on more lucrative routes. Whether there are airports who are prepared to continually discount rates when squeezed is moot.

Just love those freight figures.only wish we could have more. What provision if any is there for more freight operations? Can anything be done to encourage a handler to take up residence? Has hopes for TNT but sadly dashed. Pity amazon or some other player could not be offered incentives to use our less than overcrowded airoplrt.

Amazon have big massive warehouse next to Manchester airport,so no chance of that John. Doesn’t generate any air traffic - just taking advantage of tax breaks in the Enterprise Zone
