Thanks for all your comments here are some more photos, hope you enjoy.
Female Army students, practise their army marching for state occassions,on the banks of the Taedong river at sunset in Pyongyang.
Chinese built double decker busses operate that longer routes from Pyongyang city, its impossible for foreigners to use this form of transport, also the same for the trolley busses, pity!
Fuso built busses at Hamhung(the DPRK,s second city),out side a local restaurant, where we had lunch, after our IL18 flight to nearby Sondok, about one hours flight north east from Pyongyang, the roads here were non existant hence the buses design!
The Majon hotel Hamhung beach, this hotel has built to Raddisson 6 star standars,it is of course not run by Raddisson,it is mainly used to accomodating guests who are invitied to the Leader,s(Kim Jong Un)summer palace just along the coast,Our group was allowed to upgrade to this hotel, and we charted a TU134,from Pyongyang to get there,I understand the tours from 2013,will use a 154B,and not the 134!.
The private beach belonging to the Majon hotel,You have to be high up in the North Korean government or a foreign guest,to stay here.
Kim Il Sung square in Pyongyang.
View of Kaesong city near the DMZ and 38 paralel(the North/South Korean border)
Visit to a fertiliser plant near Hamhung,A very entertaining visit, once over the smell of amonia gas!
The fountain park in Pyongyang,a rainbow forms in the early morning sunshine on a beautiful day in Pyongyang city.
Pyongyang city Tram, the trams are painted according to their route,
In closing I would like to talk about the food,I tend to eat the food local to where I am in the world, and I was aware the reputation of North Korean food before I entered in DPRK,i have to say some food was good and some was not so good, there were BBQ restaurants etc,but I have to say I think some people strugled with it,so if you go be warned you may not like the food, and there are not many alternatives,
here is a photo of a North Korean favourite,Cold noodles, that is not to say cooked noodles that are cold, I mean cold raw noodles,I had eat all the food to this point, but I could not eat this, and I think only a couple of people including myself tried it,I think the restaurant boss was most upset,Still at least I tried it!.
I hoped you liked my view on life in the DPRK,At least as I was allowed to see it,and yes,the tours are carefully planned by the North Korean aurthorities,as what you can see and cannot see,but I was surprised how much photgraphy freedom we were given and the avaition tour, was the reason we were all there was fantastic.
thanks for looking and all your comments
best regards Calflier.
