G-EZBV / U27002 from AMS has been holding North of Rhyl for about 10 minutes, it looks like its going to try a Runway 27 approach. (U2603 departed @ 10:43, so the LPL is open for departures.)
Update: The Flight from AMS landed, Ryanair from TFS on approach @ 11:02, has aborted landing @ 11:05.
EI-DAE is diverting to BHX, Manchester has got delays.
EI-DYH / FR9629 from POZ also diverting to BHX.
EI-EKJ / FR9649 from WRO landed on Runway 27 @ 12:21.
EI-ENM / FR7112 from SZZ landed @ 12:32.
G-EZDK / U2602 from BFS landed @ 12:27.

At 1245 RVR 27 550m on ATIS
Note that at 1300 the Airport's arrival page detailed:
EZY602 Belfast due 0900, landed 1227 EZY7002 Amsterdam, due 1045, landed 1055 FR4347 Tenerife, delayed & diverted to BHX circa 1120. Outbound FR4346 sched 1145, showing a delay to 1335 EZY7284 Geneva, diverted to Manchester circa 1120 EZY604 Belfast, due 1130, landed 1301 FR9629 Poznan, diverted to BHX circa 1140 FR7112 Szczecin, due 1145, landed 1232 FR9649 Wroclaw, due 1205, landed 1222 EZY7242 Krakow, due 1355, estimated 1415, landed 1402 FR9647 Krakow, due 1455, estimated 1655. later revised to 1634 rest of day showing arrivals more or less as scheduled.
Broadly seems to agree with Speedbird's observations.
Heard a EZY643J depart around 1250. Also a JY9266 talking to LPL, but not sure just what/where/why.
A Ryanair RYR44P inbound around 1325, followed by a EZY9005, landing around 1330.
The Departures board does not list any flights as cancelled, although a few as delayed departing.
At 1310, conditions 1 mile north the 09/27 centrepoint improved rapidly, with visibility much better, now misty rather than foggy.
Although still misty at 1500, with the airport clearly currently open; the BBC general weather forecast is predicting the fog to thicken later this afternoon/evening and return until sometime tomorrow morning.

Cloudbase at Runcorn @ 16:45hrs is less than 1,400 as Ryanair EI-DWE from Krakow could not be seen. Regards Beemer.

Interesting that the Ryanairs chose to divert to Birmingham rather than Manchester? I assume that is because the visibility at MAN at the time was about the same as LPL.

Interesting that the Ryanairs chose to divert to Birmingham rather than Manchester? I assume that is because the visibility at MAN at the time was about the same as LPL. Not so sure. I recall that on the evening of 13 December two Ryanair flights into LPL went into the hold due to low RVR's. FR442 eventually diverted to LBA after declining a clear MAN. FR9887, after holding for around 30 mins, decided to make one final landing attempt at LPL & was successful. However, before making his final approach he also declined a clear MAN, saying his preferred options in event of a go around were LBA or BHX. Maybe it is something to do with the level of landing fees payable at MAN for any non-based Ryanair aircraft.

Didn`t O`Leary have a small falling out with MCR not that long ago ? if correct that could be why the diverts avoided a clear MCR and went to Leeds ?

O'leary falls out with everybody !, still think he is hilarious though. Maybe it was purely operational, they can move aircraft to satisfy another route
