BA Shuttle 34CA from Gatwick has diverted into Liverpool from Manchester parked on Stand 39.

B744 VS076 was diverting away to either EMA or gatwick & was over birmingham when informed man had re-opened so headed back north & landed. was our wind component a feature in not electing for LJLA or was it another reason ? any ideas ?

Might be company policy - they may already have instructions for their preferred alternates.

Might be company policy - they may already have instructions for their preferred alternates. we've had the same flight in here on div a few years ago, pity if they've changed alternate preference. not many of the heavies seem to have us on their wx list. hopefully the management can work on this .

I can cope with a bit of informed speculation clifftop, its posts like that now deleted that get me down. In terms of widebody divs I suspect fire cover will have played a huge part in VS' decision process...
