Dropped off a low loader today at Wallasey Docks is an ex US Military Amphibious Vehicle with name plate "Fort Liedot" fixed to the body. HUGE hardly describes its size apparently each wheel is powered by its own engine.

It had crossed my mind, WirralWiki web site has some more pics and no doubt info on the vehicle will be uploaded pretty soon. Re the sunk duk I think the Liverpool Echo tonight had something in about those

Went to get some better shots of the Amphibious Vehicle at Wallasey Docks and also Google the same. Came up on Net with the following. LARC XV (1967) Manufactured by Frauhauf Corp. This is nearest with a "normal" size car at the rear. Wheels have to be minimum 6ft in height.

It looks like the height is similar to a double deck bus (ground to top of dome). However, the width would appear slightly larger and could well be similar to that of a Barracuda (airport fire engine).
