I don't follow light aviation these days but was in the back garden at around 1730 this afternoon when a vintage single-prop flew over heading north at low level as if it had just departed from 27 or overflown the airfield. It looked like a Citabria...might be of interest to somebody.
Also noted today,Police Eurocopter G-CPAO was orbiting over my house north of the airport at about 1pm.

ATC asked Tornado "Rebel 87" for his airframe serial number. The pilot offered ZG777.

Habu, I too watched the Citabria - amazed that no one else has commented.
I watched it from Camp Hill, Woolton come from high over the airport, descend, then perform a series of tightening orbits over Woolton Village/Woolton Hill, then depart as though joining right-hand for 27 (but could well have continued on past the airport). The Citabria has an orange and white 'sunburst' pattern on the top of the wings. Anyone identify it?
