I found this old photograph in a clearout at work years ago , old CEGB stuff , it shows a Traffic Island somewhere possibly the A1 with overhead work from scaffolding ...scary or what ! I think it was about 1960 , I can see a minivan which seems to be the most modern vehicle on it , anyone care to name the rest John

Looks like the Fred Davies wagon is a Commer as too is the one in the middle of the roundabout and just about to enter it is a Dodge. Pity we cant see the radiator grill but from the shape of the windows the one behind Fred's could be either a Leyland Beaver or Octopus.

There is a Ford Anglia, behind which is possibly a Vauxhall Zepher estate and in front of Fred's truck, is possibly a Riley. The platform truck at the rear is a BMC. Behind the white minivan is a Hillman and the estate at the rear (behind the BMC) is probably of the same make. The third truck on the roundabout is possibly a Scammel and the truck opposite Fred's is a Commer..

What a great picture, thanks for sharing. The two tone car immediately behind the lorry in the roundabout looks distinctly like a Triumph Herald Coupe. If it was a saloon version, you would have seen the rear windows as the boot area was quite shallow, whereas with the Coupe, it was enormous. I actually owned a 1960 Coupe for several years in the mid to late 70's. Lovely car, very rare. Also owned an Anglia and a Mini around that time.

Could the convertible to the left of the pic in front of the Fred Davis wagon be an Armstrong Siddley? Just a thought.
