The Conservation Centre at Cosford Museum is open this month from Sunday 10th to Saturday 16th from 10:15 - 13:00 with free admission (although there is now a charge for the car park). I went a couple of years ago and it is worth a look. The Dornier 17 is new also the Wellington & Hampden are also being worked on.

I went to the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre open day at RAF Museum Cosford on Saturday 16th November. Here a few photo's from there and also around the museum which has a few new exhibits since I last went in 2009. 7198/18 LVG C.VI also regd G-AANJ P1344 Hampdem TB.1 on rebuild ex Russia XS695 '5' Kestrel FGA.1 Tripartite Evaluation Sqn. I last saw this on the dump at Farnborough in 1974 MN325 Typhoon IB ex Hendon Also being restored was MF628 Wellington T.10 The new exhibits were XV249 Nimrod R.1 51sqn XS709 'M' Dominie T.1 55(R)sqn ZG477 Harrier GR.9 1sqn 733682 FW.190A-8 ex IWM South Lambeth G-ACGL Comper CLA.7 Swift and some that have been here for a while G-AOVF Britannia 312F marked as XM497 although never served with RAF TX214 Anson C.19 XR525 Wessex HC.2 72sqn flew a few hours in this Wessex out of Shawbury in the late 90's XL703 'Z' Pioneer CC.1 Also viewable is the Dornier Do.17Z werke No 1160 '5K+AR' recovered from Goodwin Sands. This is in its own compound and is beinng sprayed with a weak Citric acid solution to remove the corrosion & crustateans and this will continue for couple of years Hope you enjoy the photo's Graham GTF4J2M

Excellent photos, Graham. Very clear indeed. Cosford can be a devil of a place to photograph individual aircraft but you seem to have done very well.Regards Beemer.
