The Spanish still use the Harrier, if proof was needed to visible that the UK is being cut to the bone this just adds oil to the fire. The F.18 shot with the higher aircraft visible is well timed and captured brilliant.

The pictures are excellent, but what a bizarre collection of aircraft for what is supposed to be a shop-window for new developments! The Meteor, the Canberra, the Lynx and the Vulcan are museum pieces and have their place - but not at Farnborough. Quite why they felt the need to bring the Spanish AV-8B is anyone's guess. The joke of this of course, is that although Spain wanted the Harrier when it was first produced, they would not buy it from the UK because of the Gibraltar situation, so they bought the US model. Biggles' point is notable and one wonders whether someone was tking the mick.

Thanks for the comments guys. Garstonboy, Monday-Friday are trade days and now Saturday and Sunday are a public airshow. Some of the items had left before the weekend (A350 springs to mind) and the 787 departed in on the Saturday AM before the show. Pics of the civils: Diamond DA42s by paulowen248, on Flickr Sadly the Boeing 787 was towed to the flight sheds and departed back home an hour or so later. At least I saw it fly!
