Much as I love to see these old warbirds doing their stuff, I do wonder whether the whole business of flying them needs to be reviewd. I'm not saying that they should stop flying them, but perhaps reduce the amount of flying they do.

I doubt restricting even more severly the time these warbirds fly would have prevented this incident. These OAP's of aviation probably have more care and attention thrown at them in servicing and saftey related concerns than most other flying objects. Things fail at some point and always will do it's only a matter of time whether you lengthen it or restrict it.
