In my days of visiting Moscow's airports, none of the ground equipment (apart from the follow me van) had radio contact with their bases, so the snowplough driver would possibly have been unaware of what was happening. The fact that he was allegedly drunk will not have helped, however.
The fact that the CEO of Total was killed in the accident will be the cause of a deep investigation. Some might say this is long overdue, as the English spoken by ATC at Vnukovo is very poor.

The aircraft involved was F-GLSA Falcon 50 c/n 348 Owner/operator Unijet.
